Greetings!

Yup, I'm totally new here though I've been reading the boards for a number of months now. Finally got up the nerve to register my little girl and would be interested in seeing thoughts from people on her pedigree. She can be found here.

Right now, she and I are learning the ropes of the Schutzhund sport and having a lot of fun in competition so she's still very much a working sport girl, no puppies in her immediate future but I am curious about how her pedigree looks to others who have been working with working bloodlines for awhile now. Nothing against showlines, I know very well she's a 'working' conformation not a show girl.

Newbie, trying to learn I'll admit it. :D

I'm more into the west German working lines so the pedigree I can't help you with BUT she has a look to her face that I love.  She has a very attactive and feminine head with a look like "I could cause some trouble here".

Her pigment and coloring are very nice too:)  Pretty girl.

Thank you MI GSD!

She's a very no nonesense high drive girl out on the working field which is making Schutzhund an extremely fun -but hard work!- sport/hobby for me but what I love about her is she's a calm, stable headed member of our family as well.

very nice pedigree.

I know a couple Galant daughters from SchH training that are very nice both are also FEMA cadaver dogs, I saw a video of one of them doing a high line transfer in a sling over water, she was cool as a cucumber, totally unphased and relaxed and it was her very first time.  Both have been wowing trainers and handlers at SAR seminars and trainings from what I hear.

I also have trained in PSA with a Honza son who is also fantastic (awesome full HARD grip on the bitesuit...I have some permanent discoloration from bruises on my bicep from him).  He's certified in explosives detection, trailing and apprehension.

Very pretty girl too, good luck with her!

Thank you very much GSDfan!

Calmness in the girls must be a Galant feature because nothing has caused her to ever turn a hair no matter where we are or what we're doing and wow, that is very nice to hear about Honza, since I haven't heard much about the lower half of her pedigree.

Good looking girl. Nice color and head. I too have a Eurosport girl but is out of Nucky. I have seen several Galant pups and I have been impressed with their color and drives.

On the top side Galant has some of the best zPS studs in his background. Grim was a legend in his own right and was known to bring nice defense and fight drive. His hip production has been suspect but as long as he was bred to good or better females and not heavy line breeding they have really held up.

On the bottom side you have the infamous Car z Kostolianskej cesty. He is one half of the legendary 'Majic Cross' the other being Titus. Car has produced some of the best Czech dogs their has been. Including: Norbo, Emir, Ema III.

Good luck with her.

The training director of our schutzund club owns a Grim grandson, and that dog amazes me!  I'm new to this type of training but it's obvious that this dog is special.  He has an off switch - if you meet him off the field he looks like a mellow, laid back guy.  Once he hits the field he is focused and intent on his work.

Thank you Mewoodjr!!  This is part of what I am trying to learn about the dogs in her background and what they have brought to the sport and the breed.

I know I'm hopelessly biased when it comes to my adoration for her, she truly has turned out to be the all around dog.  Fun and fire on the field and yet my 4 year old son can bound up to her crate when she's just finished bite work and crawl all over her and she's a perfect love.

Her breeders did good with producing her, in my opinion and yes, I've been very pleased with what came over from Eurosport!

AKGeorgias thank you so much for taking a moment to comment and let me know about your experience with a dog from shared lineage with my girl!

The off switch definitely came from somewhere because as I said before, I can have her on the field giving the helper what for one moment and then my 4 year old crawling across her the next and I don't have to worry about where her head is.

Thought I'd chime in...your girl is a beauty...Galant does seem to produce good-looking dogs.  I too have a Galant girl, Fluzi zet Eurosportu (mother is Marlyn Equidius)...she is awesome.  Lots of drive, great nerves...very versatile.  As there really isn't a good Sch. club in my area, I am working towards a Mondio title.  She is also cross training in Agility, tracking, Rally and is a wonderful Therapy dog working with patients in physical therapy. With her energy, gotta keep her very busy. Good luck with your training goals.

Regards,

Newbie Too...AKA former lurker
