2008 World Championship--Who's Going? - Page 1

 Watching the Olympics has just gotten me more excited about the WUSV Championship.  Who is planning to attend October 9-12, 2008 in Florence Kentucky?   Are any international members of  this forum planning to attend?  If so, don't be shy about letting us know what we can do to help make your visit a great one!   I am looking forward to meeting a lot of the people from this forum. 

I unfortunately cannot take 2 weekends off in one month. If I do not go the NASS, I will come down to watch the WUSV. I was also considering driving down just to watch it for one day.  I'm pretty bummed they put those 2 events so close to each other, timewise.

The WUSV is always the same time each year.

USA was scheduled to host the WUSV, which has been the same weekend in October since time immemorial, over two years ago. ( Originally USA was hosting it in 2009, but the Germans wanted to do it then for [yet another?] centennial.  So, I would think that scheduling them so close to each other could have been avoided.   OTOH, the thought could have been that the events would not conflict, because they appeal in large part to two different "interest pools."  I know that has been the rationale  in this region  when a show and trial are scheduled on close, or even the same, weekend.   But, I could be wrong and it was just general, everyday, run-of-the-mill, garden- variety obliviousness about the scheduling, and no-one noticed, until after the fact.   Maybe Danny Spreitler can shed some light on that, but I doubt he would address it on this forum.

I'll show up one day, although my parents don't think I'll make it home safe from the Sept. 2 St. Paul Revolution Convention. Ohhh maaaaa don't worry nawwww !!

I am so bummed that I am not going to be able to make it to the WUSV.  I graduate on the 1st of November and we have final presentations to the dean of the school and the dean of the Business College and they just so happen to be on that weekend I am so ready to have my weekends back, the last 13 months have been pure hell! Thank goodness there are only 2.5 more months to go!

I will have to watch from my computer and hope that someone is posting information quickly!!  It woudl be awesome if someone had a live camera going online, that would be very nice!!!!
