Or better yet get rid of crummy Windows and get linux instead.

Linux is free... theirs absolutely no charge for it.

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

download and burn the image onto a DVD and then browse around using LIVE CD.

Theirs so many things you can do on Linux that you could do with windows.

Here was my desktop until I had hard drive problems (None related to Linux).

Brit, I bought my wife a new computer with Windows Vista installed and it sucks! I think I will give Linux a try.

Thanks, Dave

I'd suggest a custom firewall for hacker's and update your virus scan regularly.

Switch browser's every once in a while.

Get a a MAC and be done with it.

You won't be sorry. I love my macs, and have owned at least 5, beginning from the eighties. Wonderful, useful, elegant and FUN machines.

My son got a new computor with Vista and it sucks, too..ONly one he could find , then we heard a lot of complaints about Vista. We were told they are phasing it out , cant fix the glitz's in it...I have Windows xp and automatic daily updates.

Vista is not user friendly, I personally like the XP pro.

Mac, also own one but hardly use it as its very confusing but its very clear and high quality and definition.

Maybe over time we will slowly integrate ourself onto vista or mac

Dave,
I was searching for a personal laptop and when I asked one of the workers at office max how much would the laptop cost without the windows vista crap on it... The workers got kinda rude at me in a sarcastic way asking me "How can I access the net and check email "without windows". The guy who suppose to serve me just came back from smoking a cig too to top it off! the stench was terrible. I was happy just to get away from this guy. Nice costumer service, huh?

Did I also mention that while I was at office max I was right near a Micro$oft representative when I was looking at the laptops? You wouldnt even imagine the kind of words that was floating inside of my head at the time. I do have discretion, really :)

When I buy new towers I never buy the ones with windows already installed. I get costume built ones that doesn't have an OS installed. As of right now I'm unfortunately running Windows XP Pro. I seem to have a problem with one of my computer fans thats causing my computer to over heat, which I just now discovered it. I will be taking my computer a part to find out what the problem is tomorrow and when I'm done and hopefully successful

beetree, I'm sorry but Macs sucks! PC RULES!

yellowrose of Texas,
Vista was a joke! I couldn't believe that micro$oft even realse it! I guess MS intentions were to see how many suckers can they catch with their newest product. Micro$oft is going down! Linux is already pwning them. Look at how many people are using Linux servers instead of windows. As Linux grows it becomes more user friendly.
