VonIsengard

by VonIsengard on 11 August 2008 - 16:08

I had an observation several weeks ago and really did not have the time to make a thread, so here goes. There have been many threads regarding how the GSD has changed and looks very different than it did even 20-30 years ago, much less at its inception.

Now I have a lot of interest in show/work crosses, as I have said before nowhere near the knowledge to attempt it just yet, but I think many of today's show/work crosses have similar look/structure as the "old school" GSD. So for my interest and all of our personal enjoyment, lets post pics (stack if possible) of any of your work/show dog and links to their pedigrees. Or, if you know of any outstanding crosses, post em up!

I have 2 I can post after I mess with my camera drivers.

My old V Conni vom Alten Turnerplatz, SchH3, KK1, by the incerdibly ugly BSP/WUSV Ben Aamuhlen, actually has  line to Uran Wildsteigerland., Jupp Haller Fram and Canto Arminius  She is the mother of both my red-hot-banger females, Ali vom Fruangarten and Portia Haus Roecker. She still works at age 12.5, albeit a lot slower. In fact we had a junior handler out working her in protection yesterday. The old bitch still has it! She'll probably live to be 15 or 16 as long as we let her work now and then.

C-litter Frauengarten  = working/showline cross. Cleo pictured at 5, 10 and 12 weeks. (yes, her ears are fine)

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/503696.html

All pups showed plenty of drive. Sadly, only one of the litterschutzhund is in a working home, but I'm told he is doing well with Jim Hill in Philly. One is in training for SAR, one in AKC obedience. Now 21 mos. old. Not bad looking dogs either. No disqualifying faults. Prelim's fine.

KC,

I do love the show work crosses I do feel they resemble old school look. I have posted several messages about combining show and work. I especially like DDR/WGR Show crosses. My first female pictured about Kora Spaidz vom Germelhaus is excepetional. This year I just had a my first litter out of my hungarian (WGR Showline) and a DDR import. The litter turned out superb. Solid nerves, great structure and good health and also rich color. I think these breedings should be considered more by top breeders to increase their popularity. I know Kirschental does it pretty often and so does Grafental.
