Any thoughts on this breeder? - Page 1

Hi, a friend of mine from california recently asked me if I had ever heard of this breeder, Lenga's German Shepherds, and I had not.  I looked at the website and it seemed like a lot of money for just puppies and the parents are neither titled or seem to be from German lines.  Just thought I'd get some feedback from anyone on here who might have any experiences or know this breeder.  The link to her website is below.

I would stay away from anyone claiming to breed "large sized" German Shepherds.

I remember Helene.  Run the other way and that's all I'm going to say on that matter.

If you are not sure of the breeder STAY AWAY!

Finally got the link to work 5 litters, 4 sired b a dog not yet 2 yrs old. Reason for breeding? He's really really red folks and that's what sells. Not sure why her own stud dog with no titles or OFA brings a $3000 puppy whe the Am Ch she bred to is only getting a measly $2000 a pop. Holy Cow!

Wow it's amazng what people are getting for puppies with nothing in the background.

If your friend is serious about looking for a nice pup from a very reputable breeder, have her contact Willi Ortner.  He had a litter right now and both parents are SchH3, KKL1, Kalmiero the father was a BSP participant, and is a nice dog with good temperament.  The Dam, Laika is also a certified police dog, she is a bomb and drug dog.  These pups are now almost 14 weeks old and for some reason he still has some there.  This is what is sad, when you see a quality well planned breeding with pups still available and then you see some backyard breeder breeding for the money slling pups at $3k. 

He has a beautiful red sablemale that he said is better suited for a pet home, one comment from my friend Kelley when she picked up her puppy was that this male was a playboy and wanted everthing delivered to him on a platter.

The pick male and female out of the litter, were sold to people in my region, and my friend Kelley with the female said she has never been more happy with a puppy.  She has been doing this for over 20 years.  She said the focus and drive is outstanding and even at this age, the puppy is showing great tracking behaviors.

Honestly if you are looking for a quality breeder with pups on the ground, Willi is one that will stand behind his puppies 100%.  There are MANY reputable breeders here in CA. 

Anyhow, I have nothing to gain by mentioning Willi and his kennel, I just get a alot of phone calls from people in our region who have been scammed by breeders, and it makes me so sick to see such a nice breeding availalble with junk being sold out there for more money.  If you are interested in his puppies, his kennel is www.ortnervonderpfalz.com
