How old? 6 years old? anesthesized? tranquilized?

Hello Jen,  Do not worry more, the result is fast normal. What is the age of your dog?  Not superhips because there are some little details.

by Jen_j41 on 08 August 2008 - 16:08

The dog is 28 months old. He was put under general anasthesia. I know they arn't excellent hips, but I was just wondering what the prognosis should come out as, the vet who took the xrays told me Borderline dysplastic.

Thanks, Jen

Not the best positioning in the X-ray. Right leg is pulled & twisted much more than the left. I would say pass though.

I have about 7 positions - I just pulled one out and decided to post it. I thought it would pass as well, I don't know why (hes not my regular vet) they said borderline/dysplastic, thats why I wanted some opinions on the xray. Thanks again!!!

Borderline does not mean dysplastic. It means indeterminable status at this time and you need to re-xray later.

The only thing that i do not like on these hips is that the necks of the femurs are short and thick. I personally would not like this hip conformation in a breeding dog. I bet this dog stays sound all his life. The sockets are plenty deep, It depends on who rates them. Ofa is a crap shoot.  You might get a Good rating. I would send them in. I agree with the other poster that the SV would rate them Fast Normal.
