How often do you guys train? My male is rather soft and submissive and I don't want to over do it.

If you're training in a positive manner, I would train everyday with your dog. It will bring out some confidence.

I track every evening, ob every evening, then protection twice per week. My dogs love working and I love working them. After that we are all couch potatoes. Life is very good, you can't ask for better.

Thanks for your replies. I do train with postitive reinforcement. I guess as long as he is happy and not stressed everything is fine.

Travel Time;
How old is your male?
Not all dogs mature at the same age, too much compulsion on a young immature dog can lead to to avoidence and submissive behavior.

Travel time,
You should do something with your dog every day, even if it's not training. Reinforce and refresh what's already been done. Use it or lose it.
It doesn't have to alway's be work either. Playing can still reinforce obedience and keeping him focused on you.
JMO.

Jdadenton, he's three and a half. We work on basic OB (sit ,down, come, heel) everyday, and always end the session with "free fetching". I just wanted some more opinions. Thanks

Travel time,
Build your own obstacle course, a tube, a bridge, a short wall to jump.

> As I work a PSD, I train each night while working. Scenarios are at times short or can be on occasion if it is quiet a little long. I am also allowed 3 hours on Wednesdays each week to devote to strictly training.
> On our off days we do no kind of work related to the job.
