Any input will be greatfully received.
I have a bitch who was mated in May, but a scan showed it was unsuccessful. She has gone on to have a phantom pregnancy (1st for her) and has now started to produce lots of clear discharge. She is past the days where you could have wondered if the scan was wrong, and has maintained a normal temperature. She is still producing some milk and is still a bit off on her behaviour but otherwise ok.
Can anyone give me any ideal how long the discharge is likely to continue for and how long till the milk settles down? I dont want to treat her for the milk unless I absolutely have to as I prefer to let nature take its course.

I just went through that with my girl and it was about 2 weeks before the milk dried up. I don't think I had any discharge with her or if I did, it was very light.
3 months after the false pregnancy she came back into a full heat cycle. I just got done breeding her again so we'll see how that goes. With the false pregnancy she had a split heat cycle.

We have had our female scanned and we were gutted that she is NOT pregnant,we were told that some females will not produce in summer,so maybe we can look forward to a winter mating with the same stud dog .So we are living in hopes and keeping everything crossed.

This can happend for so many reasons and the best I could advise is to take this as an act of god.
Some will go thru the full process of giving birth and having milk. They can be used as emergency foster parents
