Birmingham and District GSD Association
Junior Rally Day
Sunday 7th September, 2008
Mount Farm, Hixon, Staffordshire, ST18 0NB
CALLING ALL JUNIORS!
We are delighted to be holding a new and exciting event just for Junior GSD enthusiasts.
The exact format of the event is still developing and you can follow the progress on
www.mascanigsd.co.uk/juniorrally08 .
To take part you will need a GSD of a size and temperament that you can manage and lots of energy!
It does not matter whether your dog is a Champion Show Dog, Top
Obedience Winner or simply your much loved pet – all are welcome.
We will be holding one-to-one coaching as well as group coaching in show handling and obedience.
We will also be holding handling competitions
and are planning an event to find the judges of the future!
All participants will need to have a responsible adult with them on the day
but this will be a great day for your “Grown Up” to relax with other “Grown Ups” and talk dog
or anything else they want whilst you do the hard work and have fun.
In order that we can make sure we have enough helpers at the event
we are asking that anyone interested in taking part registers NOW.
Please e-mail Shirley Hutchinson on mascani@btinternet.com for a registration form.
GROWN UPS, CLUBS, BUSINESSES
We hope that this event will be the first step towards holding a full multi-disciplinary event
similar to that run every year in Germany.
Whilst we can we would like to keep participation in this event free of charge
and we would like to give each participa

Best of luck with this new venture. I am sure this will be a great experience for the young up and coming handlers some of which can already put the adults to shame. Keith and I are thinking of adopting a kid for the day just so we can come along and join in. Seriously if you do need any help on the day just give us a shout.

Its a real shame that this hadnt been a week earlier - before school restarts. For those of us that are quite a way from Hixon it just a bit too far on what we class as a school night.
If you ever do one on a Saturday or in the holidays we will be there with bells on!

Hi Beepy,
Wow - that is a consideration of course, for people far away, and a thing that I certainly didnt think of. Must make sure that next years (hoping there will be a next years, and demand will be the deciding factor) I am sure its a consideration, thank you. All of these little things are useful to add to the good planning.
For this year?? Go for it, its going to be fabulous I can assure you - lots of work going on, and all the kids will go home with momento`s. WORTHWHILE MOMENTO`S too !!! Let them yawn at school just for one day
Seriously though - thanks for that thought
Cheers Mo - Mascani.

Mo - What time do you anticipate things will come to a close? Just trying to work out what time we'd get back, also whether to take the oldest and leave the youngest behind!
As for the Yawn - God the head teacher will kill me - she's a tyrant you cant imagine!

Going to get my daughter to mail you Beepy re times TODAY so that you can see if you can do it - as for head teachers - oh yes, I CAN imagine.... we tried to take Katy to her first German Seiger a year ago, and becuae my daughter was totally up front and honest, it was a stern "No" to the time off school on the Fri and Mon - makes you wonder about these teachers getting their priorities right though doesnt it - Mo - Mascani

Mo - Im with you all the way - Im trying to do loads to give my kids an opportunity to have self confidence and most of those require activites out of school - and as you say its a no go with the school despite their impressions of supporting children!
Another thing might be nice - if anyone has extra dogs who might be able to go - as maybe some of the parents might not have enough appropriate dogs to take. Maybe some of the dogs who understand what is required in the ring but are maybe a bit slower than some of those currently going out. I've visions of children being like the old Thelwell characters but with GSD instead of obnoxious little ponies!
