Ego, Arrogance,Ignorance.
The key word is point of view.
There is always room for improvement but I'm talking about the breeder's.
Every breeder hope's to breed a better animal.
The GSD has gone off in so many different direction's each from specialization of purpose that the original dog is very rare.
Everyone will have their view , that's mine.

It is ridiculous and egostical to think that a person can "better" the breed. The breed is what it is. A breeder's goal should be to produce dogs that are WORTHY to fall within the standard of the German Shepherd Dog. A breeder's goal should be to maintain the quality and integrity of the gene pool. The GSD itself is not in need of "bettering". It's the breeders, owners, trainers, the humans in their lives- WE need the "bettering".
