A lot has to be considered/ taken in as many litter varies.  Are the parent over sized, small or standard? are you supplementing/bottle feeding?  How much is mom  staying with the puppies? Are you weaning them ? kibble or raw? how many times are you feeding them?

Normal about 1-2 pound a week on average but not written in stone  FME.

My breeder gave me this website which shows a German Shepherd Growth Chart by Weight and Age for the 1st year ..

By charts..I should weigh between x to xx...per my age and height. What is important is to get to know the litter...each of them.At 5 weeks they should already be weaned by the dam. Each pup should be investigating everything that you place in front of them. You may see within the litter lose a tad because there is more interest "OUT There instead of food or there may be a challenge with a smaller pup vs a larger one...in obstacles......... Just make sure there are no parasites..Plenty of water to play and drink from.Take care to notice the late maturers in the "Pack Litter"..........

6-9 lbs.

Below 6 and they are not getting enough food or they are not absorbing healthfully.

Over 9 and they are probably too fat.

They should then grow about 2 pounds per week or a little more for awhile.

8 week old pups should weigh 12 -20 lbs.  A 20 lb male pup at 8 weeks will mature to about 100, so this is absolutely as large as they should be.

Of course, as the breeder, your job is to make sure they have the finest nutrition possible.  If you are looking at a litter, the pups should look very solid, not bony, and thick and energetic.  Energy and activity grow a lot from 5-8 weeks.
