What to do about local puppy mill? - Page 1

There's a local guy who has been into all kinds of trouble with dogs, sued several times, gave false registration, never delivered papers, sold sick dogs, etc.  Now, he's got internet access and trying to market dogs throughout the USA.  He's running a puppy mill with GSDs, Boxers, Dobs, etc.  The guy needs to be stopped by thanks to bad Alabama laws, he's still out there.  He continues to move from city to city when he gets in trouble with animal control...he's been at it for YEARS.  What can I do to keep people from being hustled by this guy and help save a dog from suffering with him?  He also takes "free to good home" dogs, gives false AKC numbers reg. numbers in order for them to get CKC papers and promises to deliver AKC papers and mail them to you but you never get them.  I've seen him have 5 2-3 month old Dobbies in a medium to large crate sitting out in the sun (in Alabama when it's 90+ degrees) with no water or anything.  He claims to have an imported GSD stud who is not imported.  He preys on people who don't know a lot about the breed and want a finer dog.  Thanks for any and all help!

You obviously know this guy, sound's like you got an ax to grind.

If it bother's you that bad buy an animal from him then take him to court,   Hell call PETA ! 

Were are the people he has screwed over??  Haven't any of them pressed any kind of charge's ?

Some people have too much time on their hand's.

If you have any real proof why dont you go to your local prosecutor's office and make out a complaint !

I'm in a bad mood and this kinda crap just piss's me off.    Hell I got a guy in the wood's down the road cooking meth.

Down, EZ does it 2 Moons,  this is a dog message board, and questions should be welcome.   Seems like a good place to ask dog related questions to me.   I will think about ways to help, not discourage anyone for asking for help.  

In this type of a situation, if you have the people who have been sold sick puppies, then THEY are the ones who need to file a complaint with the AL state Veterinarian.  The more complaints that are filed, the faster the state vet will look into the situation. First, you have to know  your state laws in regard to the selling of dogs/puppies. Use the laws in your favor in writing the complaints. You should be able to find out who your state vet is and how to contact them by looking at your state website, usually under the Dept of Agriculture. You should also be able to find the RSAs that pertain to the situation you have issue with on that same site.

If you Have Proof  of all this like Pictures ,court papers,People who sued him, Proof of false registration, Animal control what ever you can get to proof it to the Authority they will shut him down. Notify AKC and CKC about him that may help not getting ANY Registration papers. Put it in your locale paper,get others who knows about that involved , even PETA.

But a person like that don't stop there they move and start over.

You can do what I tried to do. I got on good terms with my local ACO. They can tell you what you can do.

Give them some info & ask if they could pass it on to the other ACO's in other counties? Also talk to some of the vets that

saw some of his animals & ask if they could talk to oher vets in the area. Maybe they can be the higher ups that could have something done?

And YES, call PETA! LOL

They will know how to handle this too. Sneaky!

What exactly would PETA do?  Anyone know before they go ahead and recommend this? 

Good chance they'll rescue all the pups, euthanize them and throw "em in a dumpster when no one is looking.  At least that's what they've done in the past.

Or they'll stand in front of his house and had out leaflets.  Or put up a billboard.  Or they may go as far as sending a nekkid woman to sit in a cage in front of his house in protest.  THEN they'll take the dogs, euthanize them in the middle of the night and put them in dumpsters.
