Alphakilla

by Alphakilla on 29 July 2008 - 22:07

My puppie's name is Pfeffer pronounced "FEFFER".  She's a shepherd/lab mix.  Her mom is a huge all BLACK full -blooded shepherd.  I have not seen the lab father.  I can only take the peoples word for it that her father is lab.  I really hope that she is full blooded somehow.  Look at her 8 wk old pic and 10 week old picture and tell me what you think.

Her grandparents were on the premises and they have papersand are some  of the most Beautiful Shepherds I have ever seen!!

I am new to this site and I am new to owning a dog.  I am just hungry for info about german shepherds.  I would like to know what to expect from her ears.  Will they stand up??  I appreciate any info.  Thanks

Can anyone tell me how to post the pictures from my computer?

Alphakilla, click on the icon above that shows a mountain and a sun (second row,  sixth from right).  Then, click on the area in the taskbar that says 'Upload'. Click on the "Browse" icon, and it will show you the images available on your computer. Click on the image you wish to upload, then click "send it to the server". Once the image has finished uploading, you will get a popup telling you it is done. You SHOULD be able to see your image in the editing screen, and beside it will be some boxes telling you how large the image is. An image that is too large will stretch the screen, and make it difficult for people to view. Those who have dialup servers will also have problems because it will take forever for the image to load. To prevent this from happening, type in a number between 400 and 500 for the image height, and the width will automatically re-size to keep the image in proper proportion. The editing screen is what computer geeks call WISYWIG...What You See Is What You Get.  In other words, the image will appear EXACTLY the way it does in the editing screen once you hit 'post'.  If you see a square box with an 'X" in it, that's what wil appear in your post.  (Yes, there are a number of people on the database who haven't figured this out yet.)

If your image is large, it will take awhile to load and appear. Be patient. If at first you don't succeed, you can go back and edit your post, and try again.

Good luck...it's not that hard once you get the hang of it!

Below is an image of one of my favourite cartoons from Mother Goose and Grimm. Those of you who take part in conformation classes in dog shows will know EXACTLY what the judge is doing!   LOL!

Thanks SS.  I think I get what your'e saying.  Here's my try:

10weeks old

8 weeks old

Oh YEAH!!  There she is.  My avatar picture is her 8 wk old pic,  which I have added.  She looks so different in just 2 weeks.  So whadda think about those ears??  50/50 chance they stand up?

I don't think so, Alphakilla. I think they are going to stay the way they are. Even purebreed Shepherds sometimes have problems with the ears standing. Regardless of what happens, I think she's really cute!

Now that you've got the hang of this, can you please go back and resize the last picture you posted in the other thread? It is stretching the page!

If you have a photo editing program, you can edit (crop) your avatar to centre on the puppy, and cut out some of the background.

Thanks, and good luck with her!

Here's the cropped version of her 8 week photo, using my digital camera's photo software:

She sure is cute! You're welcome to use the picture if you want.

The pup looks good. Even though I am not fun of mixing I got to say I seen quite few mix's of labs and gsd and they are very strong dogs. Never seen one with standing ears so I would say no. Good luck with the pup
