Curious if anyone has these crates and whether they work well or not. I am a bit worried that they would be too narrow. Thanks in advance for any replies

I used 1636UL wire crates in the back of my van, two crates side by side. A little short height wise but doable for all the dogs for most trips. I would not leave my big guy in there for any length of time but a couple hours or so he was fine. He can stand, sit, and lay down.

I have two 24x36 wire crates and they work perfect for my dogs, they both have lots of extra room in there. Jager is 85 pounds. One opens sideways, one opens the long way. I would not go much smaller than that, just because I do have my dogs in the car ALOT!

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I also have a 4runner and the wheel wells really cramp into the space where the crates need to fit. I tried lopping off the lipped corners of either crate and now am able to fit 2 XL plastic crates in it pretty good with some extra room to spare for our equipment gear etc. Since they often spend 4-6 hours 3x a week in there while we are at the club, I figured the 21" wide wire ones might end up being a bit too cramped, particularly for my one older guy (90 lbs).
Cheers and thanks again
