Great story Abhay,

Marvelous.......................

The DA should not worry about charge's if the DA ever make's up his or her mind, the guy should be commited as insane.

I would not try to save any of those animals.  They have had enough human touch.

Another day in paradise.

F*** it !

Officials declined to name the suspect because he has not yet been arrested. Animal control officials Monday were discussing potential charges with the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office.

Geez that was not enough, should he have starved 50 or maybe 100 to get an arrest?....good ol' Santa Cruz...

Any being that can do this to another does not belong in society, period.  No fines or other penalties, just take him away forever!!

Whenever I read or watch the news about puppy mills, I am baffled why there still exist in this modern society.   The general public need to be made more aware of the poor conditions that  exist when deciding where to get a family pet.  For every sad case that get sold, the money keep rolling.   Being a saviour in a pet store only perpetuates the problem.  Walk away and say a prayer and hope that soon there will be no such pets (apart from fish in an aquarium) for sale in any petshops.

Advocate good breeding and breeders by doing your research.  End the unnecessary sufferings!

That is sick. Unfortunately, there are those individuals that still think dogs have all the feeling of furniture and if there is a quick $$ to be made, well.... no empathy is a terrible thing.

poseidon- puppy mills will continue to exist and pet stores will continue to peddle puppies because, even if people know these dogs come from puppy mills, bleeding hearts cannot stop themselves from "saving" the dogs. Someone told me the other day she buys all her dogs from pet stores and considers them rescues because she "rescued" them from a pet store. I was speechless.

From what I read I didn't see a puppy mill.    I know they said the guy might have been advertising dog's but no, what I see is a sick human being who has no business being free to wander the street's.    The worst puppy mill you could imagine wouldn't look like what was described.     And this guy didn't get like this over night.

Sick is sick.

KCzaja

It is a shame that the act of just one kindness is in itself perpetuating the misery for a lot more.

I bought my first puppy which was a English Springer Spaniel from a so-called breeder registered with the Kennel Club some 8 years ago.  It pains me and I pitied the dog which I eventually had to put down aged 8 due to cardiac failure.  The dog suffered throughout his life with itchy skin (dermatitis), eye operation (entropian), bilateral middle ear operation, and the saddest part was his nervous behavioural issues.  My suspect was that the puppy was taken from a puppymill and placed with a pedigree stock to be sold to unsuspecting individuals like me!  My heart bleeds seeing this sort of suffering, all for a few dollars more.

Now I am like a crusader for advocating good breeding practise.  I would advice anyone thinking of getting a pet to do their research on breeders for the breed they have set their mind on.  I am really passionate about this.
