Hi , Please can any one assist in recommending how to correct a four month gsd pup that is showing to have flat front foot ( flappy paws ).The breeder recommended on giving adult food for two weeks and this has not helped.
Another recommended that the pup must exercise on rough gravel , but I have not tried this.Any assistance and recommendation would be much appreciated.
regards

I have heard that ascorbic acid (vitamin c) will help strengthen the tendons which in turn should help with the flat feet.

I had a rescue that needed work on his feet. My vet had me walk him in sand every day. The extra gripping needed to walk through the sand really helped bring the foot up. It takes time--just like building our own muscles.

I knew a Great Dane breeder who ran across this problem now and then. And she would feed the pup high off the ground where he had to stretch his paws to eat.It is called a raised feeder. This worked for her each time. It actually strengthened the tendon's.
