Silhouettes

I have used Frontline for years, and I have never had a problem... when I called to inquire possibilities as to why it may not be working, they said "Frontline offers no guarantee to keep fleas off of your dog, you must have an active cycle in your enviorment, try spraying outside"  They were extremely rude insisting my home and yard are infested with fleas, I'm pretty disappointed.

Beside the fact that one of my dog's would get rash's,  this year the frontline doesn't seen to be working as well for me either.    I figured the dog's are building up resistance to it.

I dunno.

No problems here but the summer is not over with yet. All bugs seem to be bad this year. You might have had a big hatch, check with dermatology specialist to see if you can use frontline more often on the flea allerg. dogs. They might even have a different product that will work during these outbreaks. I hope this helps.

You mean aside from the fact that it doesn't work for squat?

Two Moons - I don't think it's a resistance.  Mine had never had frontline plus before so no way to build up a resistance.  Within a week of using frontline plus we had fleas and ticks.  I ordered k9advantix.  Used it a week later and haven't had a problem since.

Formula change maybe?

Sillouettes - they were pretty rude to me when I called too.  The joker on the line told me it could take 2-3 applications before it built up any effectiveness.    Hell, that's 2-3 months in the middle of the flea and tick season!  They tried to tell me i had them in my home too.  NOT!

Frontline was always very effective for us... I did switch to K9Advantix because it also offers repellant protection against mosquities and all the joys that they bring nowadays.

I have heard of people not having much luck with Frontline,, at the clinics where I've worked I've often been able to figure out why.....

Sorry to say if you have fleas on your animals and they are in your house.. then you have fleas.. the one time I found a few fleas on the dogs years ago (in CT, not in GA where we now live) I went thru the house like a whirling dervish!!  All areas have to be treated andof there are outdoor cats inthe mix, it will be made more complicated.... fleas can come in thru open windows.. they are hateful varmints!!

I've had very good luck with K9 Advantix.. might want to try it

No fleas in the house.  Three professional treatments including furniture, the mattresses, the carpets, the drapes each 10 days apart.  Vacuumed carpets furniture and beds and emptied the cannister into a bag then into the trash outside every day.

Not cheap.  Not easy.  No fleas in the house.  Still no fleas in the house since applying k9advantix.

Did you guys check the expiration date on your frontline boxes/tubes?

I live in southern florida and use to have a terrible flea problem until I started applying frontline plus on my dogs. Ever since I've started using it I never had a flea/tick problem since.

You guys should reconsider on using Frontline PLUS.

It was Frontline Plus that I got from my vet - at $16.00 a tube.  It wasn't expired and it was useless.  I ordered k9advantix from Drs. Foster and Smith.  No fleas.  No ticks.  No mosquitos.  No rashes.  No itching or scratching.

The b.s. answers I got from Frontline's -- customer service? -- line which was nothing more than a pack of excuses for their inferior product didn't help.

I wouldn't reconsider using Frontline Plus for any reason.  Not after the amount of money and work that had to be spent making sure my home didn't have fleas after the product failed miserably once.  I wouldn't recommend it either.

I gave up on Frontline, Advantage, etc.  I'm using DIATOMACEOUS EARTH on the dogs and their bedding and kennel.  It's safe for cats, pups and kittens and is also recommended for worming.  If they lick a little off, it's good for them!
