HOUSTON -- In an exclusive investigation, FOX 26’s Randy Wallace told you about an area kennel owner dogged by lawsuits and consumer complaints from around the country. In that February 2008 report, FOX 26 Investigates detailed numerous Better Business Bureau complaints alleging David Moore, owner of Brushy Creek Kennel in Hockley, was selling sick and dying puppies. In this latest report, you'll hear from two Louisiana dog breeders who in BBB complaints and complaints to the Waller County Sheriff's Department, claim Moore sold them dogs infected with canine brucellosis. The way Texas state health officials and health officials in Louisiana reacted to the highly contagious and usually fatal disease couldn't be more different. My thoughts....why as a 'breeder' would someone go in and buy TWENTY SEVEN dogs from this guy to take back to their homes to start their own breeding practice. The 2 main women on this video IMO are probably not any better than the guy that sold the dogs to them. Obviously they did not stop to ask about health clearance and such before bringing the dogs back to Louisiana and breeding them. This is just around the corner from us.

tbm1874,
My thoughts exactly. I have no sympathy for these women who bought so many from the one guy. They are puppy millers in the making in their own right. I hope they all loose all their money and lots of sales for a long, long time.

You can find out about Canine Brucellosis from:
from:http://agr.georgia.gov/vgn/images/portal/cit_1210/43/31/60503769Canine%20Brucellosis%20Kennel%20and%20Owner%206-13-06.pdf
Responsible breeders do not breed without a Brucellosis test of both sire and dam.

26 pups, lol thats a lot :). She was starting a pupy meal or something? lol I don't feel bad for those wanna be breaders I hope they all lost every single dollar they had invested. Why people treat dogs like a money making machine? And than they act like they are the loving dog owners when in fact the only thing they love is the money they make. Its just sad.

What you all are saying about puppy mills is totally valid.... BUT you are missing the point..... this is highly contagious... can destroy legitimate breeding programs..... they don't test for Brucellosis in Germany.
by tbm1874 on 26 July 2008 - 18:07
Actually I think it is exactly the point. Had these bybing puppymillers thought to have those dogs tested before purchasing them, the original miller would have been made aware of it and it would have hopefully prevented the people from purchasing breeding stock from him. I however doubt it because they probably had no idea what brucellosis was prior to this anyways.

tbm: Hey there: Who in the world is the owner of this kennel. I saw a name and surely its not the same man I knew once upon a time..ha
Ok , my daughter is on her way to your area, to stay at the St. Francis Wolf Reserve:::??????not sure that is the correct name. She called just now as I started to write here, and I told her I was on here and you are from that area.
I had no time last week or the 10th to stop and call and find your group, as my time was limited and gas was eating my lunch..up and back two times.
Hope you inform your club members about this dreaded mistake people make..A vet here in Henderson, Texas tells people, oh we dont do those bruscellosis any longer in our area...yeah right..I sent the woman packing right back to him. And her bitch had it.I have the papers to prove it and it burned me up that a vet would tell a client such a thing.
