Someone i know has just bred her utonagan to a white long coat GSD and sold them for £400, when i asked about the breeding she said its part of the utonagan breeding program and helps the gene pool.
Surely they are cross breeds? I would like to hear your views on this.

GSD's crossed with Malamute and or siberian huskies to look like a wolf. I don't see what a white long coat would improve. Maybe the stock is a bit inbred and this was an attempt to out cross.
They are bred for looks primarily.

Must admit they are nice looking dogs and seem intellegent at training but still crosses as far as i'm concerned are they recognised by KC?

They are not yet recognized as far as I know as they are cross bred. Some of them are quite striking in apperance. The rest I would guess is a crap shoot.
