Dee:

Thank you for putting together the petition regarding the San Jose SS and working so hard to be sure this issue got  the attention it deserved.  I saw you on several message boards,  making sure to steer the conversation back on topic  when people would start to lose focus.  I know your petition only asked that the existing rules be enforced, but I imagine you are happy to see any positive changes.  I am not sure this would have gone anywhere without your efforts.

Sue,

I appreciate your thoughts. However, this was not and IS NOT a one person effort. Thanks belongs to Ravi, who recognized the need to make public the videos. Without his stepping up and doing this, the comments made by members and spectators would have been considered the same as in years past, and we would not have had the "evidence" needed to PROVE and present the wrong doing. Maybe as in years past the outrage would have died down in a couple of weeks, UScA would have wiped their collective foreheads and said, "Phew!"

Not to diminish Ravi's importance in this endeavor, but major appreciation goes to the membership of UScA who had the integrity to stand up, put their name to the petition and say that there is something wrong and it needs to be corrected. To those who saw the rules of judging the performance test, and saw that they again, were not followed or enforced by USA, YOU deserve the credit! Without you, this stand would have been sunk!

At this time, I still have not received my copy of the magazine, to read Tim Burke's statement. I cannot and will not comment on that until I have had the opportunity to read it.

I will say, that WE have not finished what WE started. WE, as the membership need to monitor those who have been voted into positions of office. WE have EVERY right to ask questions, and EXPECT answers. Although, we may not always agree with the answers we are given. It is up to US, ALL of US to determine whether we accept the situation or not. WE can make change! And if the change or lack there of, is NOT what you, as an individual want, then you need to remember that when voting time comes around. You still have opportunity to voice your opinion to your REGIONAL BREED WARDENS and the NATIONAL BREED WARDEN.

We cannot sit back now and wait. We need to keep this in the "important" category of the membership.  I have sat back for awhile waiting to see if the information from the BAC "meetings" would be made public to the membership. As stated earlier, once I read for myself what has been stated, then I can state an informed opinion on the comments from the national breed warden.

Again, Sue, I appreciate your thoughts....but if you have the opportunity to meet someone who has put their name to the petition, thank them too! it was a MEMBERSHIP effort! AND IT STILL IS!!!!!!!

Respectfully Submitted,

Dee Clark USA Member #018205

Dee:  I agree and was remiss in not thanking Ravi for what he did.  I think everyone would agree he definetely showed "pronounced courage".  Had the tapes not been published, most of us would not have been aware of the severity or extent of the problems, so without a doubt, Ravi deserves many kudos and a few pats on the back as well.

I do feel good about signing the petition, I hope all my fellow members who signed feel good about it.  Let's  hope we see signifcant improvement in the grip work  next UScA SS.

Dee / Sueincc

Change is always painful... on both sides of the fence. It is painful for those who clamor for it .... it is painful for those have to be dragged into it... it is painful for those who willingly embrace it....

People who took the form of the visible tip of the spear that was thrust forward in the movement for change are supported by an immense group of silent and behind the scenes majority...

We are all grateful for people like Dee, Sue, Nia, Maren, Blitzen, Hodie and many others who formed the vocal visible front... but we were carried forward on the invisible shoulders of everyone who signed the petition, called and spoke behind the scenes to the powers that be and I know of members within the power structure who have told me that they were strengthened by all of you here on the "internet" doing the so called chatter...

The key here is to recognize that honesty in our performance measures is an idea whose time has come... from this point onwards no one can go back to the good old days.

Remember the power of that lone man standing before that tank in Tianenman square???.... that is the power of commentless video and pictures on the internet... Let that power do your work for you... AND THEN

Change will be a tidal wave that no one or nothing can resist.

If we really want to support change, perhaps we should start at the top!?

I am not so sure change at the top, if you propose the man linked above, is a change for anything. Remember, he supposedly had his judges license revoked recently and received some other sanction, or, at the very least, was embroiled in a situation where allegedly he billed USA for funds to which he was not entitled. Now, was this some sort of political "gottcha" or did it really happen? I don't know for certain, but I intend to find out the details since he has announced for office. Women make up the majority of this organization, and we need to find some top notch women with integrity and vision to run for office.

For my money, I want officers first and foremost who have some integrity. Appropriate change will follow.

IMO, the presidential candidate elect was the recipient of a snow job (without due process) by the "good old boys" club.

As for women, I would like to see Diane Madigan as a running mate.

Remember, folks, that there will be no changes until ineffective leadership is removed from office. Each club has a delegate (and an alternate) who is supposed to go to the Nationals, represent the wishes of his/her club, and vote in the election at the annual meeting--if there is a quorum.

Without a change in the bylaws (which people have discussed for years), there will never be one person-one vote within USCA. At least, make sure that your delegate will follow the wishes of the regional club members!
