hello everyone, I am new on the board and am looking for a breeder to get a puppy from in january or february of 2009. I have been researching A LOT of breeders and have been "lurking" on this board for quite some time.... I don't mind either haveing the dog shipped to me, or if close enough to go and meet the breeder. I am interested in learning schutzhund and definitly want to do tracking, possible some cadaver work as well. two most important traits are health and temperment Thank Cindy, from Maine

Are you asking for a possible list of breeders in your area ?

Not sure if you are just making a statement, or asking for help ?

At this point in time, I'd be researching the lines you're interested in and doing online searches as to leads on kennels. It's always nice to touch base with prospective kennels, get to know their philosophies and hopefully get some referrals. You need to know, however, if you're interested in showlines or working lines first of all as that will narrow your search a bit. If you have specific dogs in mind, this database is a great way to see progeny, find out how they've done in terms of OFA, etc.

I would get up with the search and rescue teams in Maine - it is an active group; there are several folks up there breeding nice working dogs. Quite of few of their SAR people up there are in Schtuzhund so they can help you find the right folks - I know there are schtuzhund clubs up that way.
