Has anyone notice lately that the dogs are looking or feeling badly? My rescue has been eating it for a few years now and been fine, this last bag is differn't. The dog wont eat, looks liike crap and seems like she feels older, slower, sore. I have to add stuff to her food so she will halfheartedly eat it, but If I give her TOTW or RAW she eats it right up. This dog NEVER turns her nose up at food. She's a hog. Also I feed my rats the Diamond food and one died last week. Something went off in my brain today and I wondered...is it related to the food? The rat was our youngest and healthiest of the 5. Totally wasn't expecting to find him dead. We have some older rats, even one that went blind a few months ago, another with coat/skin issues.

My dog looks really bad and I think I am going to nix this food for good. I just want to know if anyone else is seeing weird symptoms or dogs not wanting to eat the Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice? With Canidae changing formulas with no warning, I was curious if anyone knows if Diamond has done the same?

It might have a bunch of extra oil in it, LOL!  Just kidding.  I used to feed Diamond Naturals Large Breed, but had trouble with soft stools with my dog.

Nah this old gals got an iron stomach. Rock hard poops. I feed her anything and everything, leftovers, pizza, burrito's you name it. I call her my Garbage disposal. That's why it's so weird, she wont eat her food! 3 days of that and my daughter mixed some dog gravy into it and she ate about half. I have given her TOTW a couple times and some chicken and rice leftovers from the other night and she ate like there was no tomorrow. It's not her feeling badly and can't/wont eat. Seems it's just that bag of dogfood. Every morning like clockwork she hits the door to come in the garage to eat in her crate (she's hungry) but when I check on her 30 minutes later, the foods still in the bowl. I know it has to be the food.

Stop feeding Diamond.

I just responded to the Diamond post.

You can look it up in the messagebord this month.

My dogs developed cysts on neck and back area. One dog died from cancer. Think it was food.

Dogs also starting  to show same signs. lethargic , laying around , sick.

It is the food.

Rice and cooked burger is better. Cheap way to go too.

Royal Canin is safe too.

Do you think she could be becoming a picky eater, or does she get extras all the time?  I know when I started giving my dog an egg or sardine, he started getting a little picky when eating his kibble.

That is the reason some say  either feed all raw and barf diet  or feed kibble. Don't try to mix, because the dog gets picky and quits eating the mix.

if you go to all raw , you dog will most likely eat. I went round and tound with the Vetiriniarian at Diamond, Janet Reitemeyer, for a whole year.  The Lamb and Rice started giving my dog soft stools everytime I opened a new bag.

My conclusion was I went to Blue Shepherd and Avoderm, natural made with Avacodos.

I have been feeding Diamond For close to 20 years never had any Problems with it , Surpricingly my feedstore has not gotten any  Rice&Chicken Naturals delivery  for the last 3 weeks, only Natural Lamb & rice and the puppyfood.

I wil check into that since you mentioned that . Thanks 4pack

My dogs Get soft stools from Royal Canine even with very slow transition so I don't feed that anymore.

we have fed Diamond for 10 years or so.  Never had a problem outside of the occasional loose stool when switching a dog over.    never had any medical issues as mentioned above.

we started feeding the naturals when they started the line, extreme athlete.   recently we have noticed a difference.   had one tonight who didnt want to eat.  like you said, she is not a picky  eater.

could be they are changing the formula.  a lot of compines are due to the increase in grain prices.

This month I decided to switch to the Diamond Naturals--Lamb and rice--I was switching from ONE (I know you guys say it is junk food but I like it and have good luck with it) to save a few bucks.  Well since I have already bought food this month I have to go on and feed it but never again.  Soft poopy stools and they stink.............I am not impressed and very disappointed.  Wish I had had the sense to just buy one bag at a time...................So the 3rd of next month we go back to ONE Lamb and Rice which has hardly any smell and produces firm small stools.............also ios great on my guys' coats.............

NO my girls not getting picky. I don't normally feed her RAW like I do my working dogs. She only gets food when I have leftovers and am going to throw them out. Could be weeks between house food. She's not a picky dog at all, will eat until she pops. If I did feed her RAW or leftovers, she would still eat her kibble or vice versa. This dog has also been on this food since it came out a few years ago and been fine on it. Used to free feed her but she was just too fat. I thinned her up since Aug. When her kennel mate died, the feeder came out.(Kennel mate died of cancer) Seriously this is the last dog I own, that's getting anything but Orijen and RAW. I'm on my last bag of TOTW and then it's Orijen all the way. Then again I'm not taking anymore rescue pitty cases either. It's good dogs and good food, from now on.

I even scooped the Diamond out of the rats bowls and gave them TOTW. If the skin conditions and and other health issues with 2 rats clear up on TOTW( I don't expect the blind one to see again) I'm blaming Diamond. I always said it would kill the rats first. Just wonder what lovely things are in there causing this? I fully expect this bitch to pop up with some form of cancer anyday, like my Tricky did. Sad, really sad, and the reason I am trying to go holistic and natural when I can. Seems every dog food company keeps switching to crapier ingredients. Didn't Iams used to be good a long time ago? It's crap now. I wont even look at anything made my Purina. I have read and studied so many bags of dog food it's crazy. I don't even examine my own families food like this.
