I just went by my local feed store to pick up some TOTW, and when I was looking at the different fomulas I noticed a yellow/orange oil on the shelf where the "high prairie formula was setting.  At first I just thought, "huh somebody spilled something", but then I noticed it was on the shelf holding the 15lb and 30lb bags!  What the heck?  There was so much oil on the bottom of the bag that when I picked it up a it dripped in the floor a couple times.  I was going to buy the "high prairie" formula, but decided to try the "wetlands" instead.  Has anyone else noticed this?  I wonder if this is why it's in a plastic type bag, to hold the oil in???

Yes the kibble does look oily when you open the bag and I described my dogs poops as sticky after eating the food. I have never got a bag with oil dripping out of it though.

Thanks "4Pack".

Hey, where did all those other TOTW people go?

Movies, dinner, work, training dogs...who knows? Give it some time.

I feed Taste of the WIld High Prairie and have not encountered the oiliness that you describe.  I'll be interested to hear what others say.

TT,

I was out working with wonderful 9 yr old Autistic child and her new service dog....

Back to TOTW, I haven't seen that issue.  I would think that it would be hard, due to the type of packaging, for it to leave a residue on the shelves????

But, nonetheless, I still love the food....Speaking of which, gotta go feed dogs!

How high was the shelf? yellow/orange oily liquid, sounds like someone's dog marked the shelf.

One of my dogs eats TOTW, and we haven't found it to be oily.

No dog pee here,  this was indeed oil, I got it on my hands when I was moving the bags.   Could have been a bad batch.  If so, where's the quality control?

I must be a good participating member, so.......

I had a small bag (5 pounds) of TOTW, high prarie formula purchased accidentally. So I picked it up from the white pantry shelf and there was nothing on the shelf. I opened it and stuck my hand in, no oily substance.

I feed raw and I am using the Pacific Stream formula to get the fish in Pharaoh's diet. He just loves it.

There must have been something on that shelf other than dog food. TOTW is packaged in a very thick foil-like bag. I doubt a bucket of water would leak through that material. I haven't been able to find the High Prairie formula at Tractor Supply, alternate the fish and the fowl and can't say either of them look oily to me.
