Yes, due to overwhelming customer support and increased demand on our products, we have been faced with unique production capacity challenges. Our growing customer support and demand has pushed for increased capacity, therefore we have outsourced additional production from Diamond Pet Foods. Our customers demand and deserve no less than the highest quality safe ingredients, as well as state of the art consistent manufacturing. Outsourcing additional production from Diamond comes not without first carefully instating and accepting only the strictest testing protocols, as well as mandating stringent operating procedures to ensure the highest quality products possible at every level of production. We are very happy with this relationship and the high quality formulations we are able to bring to you. Expect Excellence!
Our quality of raw material as well as quality control has actual increased not decreased. Yes we have diversified our complex carbohydrates as rice continues to climb and high quality availability decreases. Our products are better than ever and more consistent. Yes we have cut costs on shipping rates as fuel continues to go through the roof. To ship pet food from one location is no longer cost effective. Our economy is facing some challenging times and we are being proactive in offering you the highest quality products, yet affordable enough for our consumers to purchase. We are not sure about other companies and their plans for change or their reasons in the past, however we feel we are being open and honest about our changes. We are getting alot of positive feedback from our customers that are actually feeding their pets our improved formulas, who also refrain from listening to rumors or incorrect information.
We thank thank you for your comments, and hope your pets are able continue to receive the benefits of our products.
Sincerely,
Julie@Team Canidae

As an avid Canidae brand dog food user for many years, I am now very dismayed in learning that Canidae has merged operations with Diamond Pet Foods, as Diamond has had several of it's own tragic repercussions of dog's deaths related to their foods in very recent years! As a breeder/owner, and lover of my own animals, I had thought that Canidae was one of the few really safe pet foods that still provided very good ingredients, at not too high of a consumer cost...I am thoroughly worried now! My animals mean everything to me and I do NOT want any foods that have been related to deaths, and that includes ALL that are manufactured and/or processed in CHINA!!! It is getting harder and harder to find foods 100% safe that are reasonably affordable; especially for multiple animal households, or kennels; or that people can afford in today's economy...most people are hurting badly in this country now! Very Concerned Customer...GSD BREEDER

And I've heard that they went from a 40lb bag to a 35lb bag and didn't change the price!! I'm still working on two bags purchased before the change. Hope the new formula agrees with my EPI girl!! I hate change!!!!!............

gsdbreeder - just because a company buys production capacity, it does not mean they are 'merging' with the other company.
BTW, i'm not connected in any way with Canidae or Diamond, nor do i feed either of those foods. i do work for a consumer products company, and am knowledgable about production outsourcing principles.

Good to know DeeJays owner! I think the person I was talking to, feeds lamb and rice, which now comes in 35lbs. So great, now I get to lug in 44 lbs versus 40!!
