I managed to make it today the show and thoroughly enjoyed it, and not just the GSD's.
At the shepherd ring was really nice to hear the critique's spoken at the end of the classes and to hear a judge with very firm opinion of what she thinks and saying it.
I was surprised at how masculine some of the younger bitches were, are GS bitches loosing their femininety along with the size probs in the breed.

Didn't the judge ( mo lakin) say a few weeks back that her partner trains videx puppies ?
Lets hope there was no conflict of interests and people keep entering shows by the zillion !!!!!

arbeiter, Zep, my partner trains dogs full stop. He has had the honour of training for Videx too, and I use the word "honour" because it is a new business that is doing extremely well on the obedience side, but has been quite new on the show training side, and we all know that we only entrust our dogs to people we believe in so we take great pride that excellent dogs have been entrusted to us.and I can put your mind at rest that there was no conflict of interest. People that observed could see and hear my decisions, and why I made them, and the dogs that took top honours were truly great ambassadors for our breed .... long before this puppy dog hit the show ring, I would have loved to buy him - it was never a possibility - and if I had bred him, it would not be possible for anyone to buy him either,
I had some absolutely top class males and females entered, and it was my pleasure to do the job I did. When one has to make a choice it has to do with decision making not dithering, and these top animals that arrived to be judged will change place many times... this was only MY opinion.
Whilst on the board, I would like to say a special thanks to all the entrants. I know how difficult and expensive it is now travelling around to shows, and I was very grateful for your entry. Thank you beepy for your kind comments on my judging as you saw it. I really wasnt at all sure about verbal critiques at this All Breed Ch Show, but I wanted to stand up and judge as GSD`s should be judged and treated, not go for the
"triangle please and first to fifth, thank you - finished with the rest"
as I feel that we should be not hiding away with our method of judging but insisting that it is done the correct way devoid of it being a General Ch show.... and no-one stopped me, although my stewards were a bit taken aback. at first.. so there you go, I enjoyed it, and thats why I did it, and a big thank you to everyone that entered.

The Kennel Club rule F(1) 30 a. A dog may be disqualified by the General Committee from any award, wether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved amongst other things to have been( Paragraph 11) Handled at a show, boarded or prepared for exhibition within the previous twelve months by the scheduled judge. This shall not apply to a Judge appointed in an emergency.
I am sure that both Mo and videx are aware of this rule. As far as I am aware neither Ch Ice or Videx Razor have been to Mo and Zep's for any training. Having been entered at the show I must say I felt Mo did a good honest job in judging the dogs entered.

penny-mo etc.
the fact you cannot see a conflict of interests is probably why the male entry was poor-punters would have sussed the outcome before hand.
what i dont understand is that at a couple of Lichfild champshows that i attended, the german judges placed the oversized dogs towards the rear-yet you didn't.what are show owners to make of all this at their next opportunity to enter, and so the most don't anymore.

as i don't know you can i ask-have you appeared on the stage at all?
thats the funniest thing i have seen on here--mo did a good job !!!-well you would say that with 3 wins ha,ha,ho,ho.
and another nail went into the coffin...........

Arbeiter
Many General Champ shows have a small number of Males entered for example Border Union =25, Three Counties = 26,
SKC = 18. Perhaps these judges are all training dogs for other people.
As you say you don't know me otherwise you would know that our dogs have won under several judge's some of which I would say did not do a very good job.
Please don't make any effort to get to know me as you are not the type of person I would wish to be associated with.
