Best Breeder/s you have Dealt with - Page 1

Ok I have searched the message board and haven't found this post anywhere...I thought it may be useful to some ppl

Please bear in mind some ppl will post THEMSELVES as "Best Breeder"...It ALWAYS pays to do research of your own, but I though this maybe a good starting point for some.

My family and I have purchased two dogs (one male in 2006 and one female in 2007) from Vom Pegasus kennel in WV.  Hardy and Sabine Ernsting are the owners and we found them to be very professional and knowledgeble about the litters they produce.  We drove from IL to WV both times to pick up our puppies, so we were able to meet both mothers of the puppies we chose and talk with the Ernsting's a while.  Both times they were right on in terms of the puppies' temperament.  Hardy Ernsting is also a very accomplished trainer and handler, so we basically tried to soak in as much information as we could.

Going to their kennel was our first step into the "upper" level of "German" German shepherds and while it was far more money than we had ever paid for a dog before, both our dogs are happy, healthy, well-adjusted, with great pedigrees and we look forward to many good years of training and enjoying our dogs.

While the mothers of both our dogs are now retired, they have two new females they imported and have two litters that were recently born.

Guttenhaus (co-owning a bitch and so far so good )

There are others I would recommend but I haven't actually bought dogs from them yet.

I have purchased 2 Shepherds from a Kennel here in Canada, nothing but good things to say about him, great dogs, good pedigrees. Always been very helpful with question, training ect. Pays you when you achieve titles with dogs from his Kennel...just can't say enough about him...TOP NOTCH!!!!!

Of all the breeders I've dealt with in the past, the absolute best breeder hands-down I've ever bought a German Shepherd from was Karl & Marion Fuller of Zwinger vom Kirschental in Germany. They were kind, informative, sent pics, we had a smooth trustworthy transaction in payment & shipping arrangements, and when I got my puppy at the airport, he was big, healthy and absolutely beautiful. Here with him turning 9 mos old, he's still lovely, handsome, got a wonderful personality and is very healthy. Anyone looking for a very nice quality West German show line (and occassional working line) GSD puppy with some true quality and caliber can check them out at www.kirschental.de. Their son Matthias handles vom Haus Kirschental from my understanding, but I've not purchased anything from him. I highly recommend them.

Vom Ramhausen -  I was so luckly to have found them before they stop breeding, I had purchased Hanibal and Clarice from them. They were always there to answer questions and just to talk dogs. Even to this day they pop in and see what is going on. We keep them posted with pictures and updates. It is great to have breeders that say in touich and care so much about their babies Two great dogs!!! We are forever greatful for them and our babies
