Anyone who knows how to read x-rays, especially elbows - opinions appreciated.  This is a male GSD, 3.5 years old.

Hips look great! If it was mine I would be disapointed if I did not get a excellent! I do not understand elbows too well they are more complicated but the joint looks nice and round with a even space so they look good to me.

The first two x-rays look like there is a small spur and maybe some slight remodeling.  I am not an x-ray tech but that is what I see.

the positioning on the hips is not good they are not parallel the pelvis is tilted ,I would have asked them for better positioning, the sockets look nice and deep though and lots of muscle

Hips good to excellent for breed and age, but they might not get an excellent rating due to the positioning. However IMO the xray is of diagnostic quality so doesn't need to be done again unless you are looking for the best rating possible. I'm sure  you already know that, Molly. Elbows? Not my strong suit, not a clue.

Elbows looks normals..As for the HIP it is at least a GOOD on OFA if not excellent.  The pelvic is tilt but  it is still symetrical on each side.  Good Luck

i think the hips look good.  i have a female with much worse elbows, so these are not the worst i have seen, but they are not the best either.  i would be interested to hear how they are rated.

its pretty hard to get one to go Ex in this breed only 5 percent Ex in dogs born in the last decade ,I some ways I think its harder if the postioning is not perfect ,though I do actually know someone that has owned five dogs with ex hips..all imports
