Thanks to those who have answered my previous questions.
We think we have found a nice young dog to buy and although she is expensive I think she is worth it. As we are new at this I thought I'd see what your opinions are on the dog/breeder. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the name of the kennels and the dog they are selling on the website...I don't want to break the forum rules so I thought I'd ask before I posted anything.

I don't think there are rules against it. I done it my self just recently, and got e-mail back from the breeder he didn't to be upset with it at all. I believe it shows that you are dong your homework if you try to get opinion from other more experience people. If the breeder would be offended by it for me it would show that he is hiding something.
I was lucky to find a good quality breeder when I was purchasing my last puppy but it was just luck since I didn't do enough homework. Now I will stick to doing business with him because I know what I am getting from him, and his socialization of the pups is top quality.

I would say it's better to check on a reputation now than be shocked about it later. If I were a breeder I wouldn't be offended by this. It would reassure me that the buyer is serious about their prospective puppy.
And if the price seems high that is even more of a reason to check. The most important thing is that you end up with a pup you are happy with.
Just my two.

Okay, well the kennel in Narnia Kennels in Canada. The dog is the 5 month old Lichen. She is $2500.
Thanks,

Oki 2,500 for a working dog is a lot, at least for me. But the dog looks nice, I like the webside and it looks like they know what they doing the fact that they have so many children is a good sign it usually means that puppys are well socialized with chidlren. I would sugest you to go visit the place if you can, you will find something that web page won't tell you. I would try looking for someone that dealt with them in the pass. Its one cute pup I have to admit but it comes with high sticker price. Some other people on this forum will be able to advise you better. Where are you located? If in State isn't there a lot of good breedrs around? Good luck.

Thanks for your advice. I'm in Germany. Yes it is a lot of money and I know there are a million other dogs out there but she is so beautiful! I'm already in love! I just want to get some expert opinions before I make the big leap, lol!

some of the dogs look a little atypical in structure..they don't don't seem to screen elbows or maybe I'm just not seeing it I guess they OVC the hips but I didn't see the numbers.though I think OVC is just pass fail which makes it hard to get an idea ... I would definetly ask about the hips and elbows though see if they can make you a video of the dog in drive and to see the movement maybe even ask for prelims
