Two Moons

by Two Moons on 03 July 2008 - 23:07

I took a call today from Mr. Jones and his supervisor Mr. Johnson offering a free $50 gas card.  They were in Phoenix Arizona, and I would recieve my free gas card in the mail.  There was a one time shipping and handling fee of $2.95 due three business days after I recieve my card.  But they would need my card number now over the phone.

I think thats what they said, it was hard to tell because they could barely speak english and sounded very indian, or at least from that part of the world.   Mr.Jones and Mr. Johnson could not explain why my caller I.D. said  (fraudulant offer).  I didn't understand that myself until  I called the number back and was warned that these people had used some other companies phone number.

It was the highlite of my afternoon, as I explained to him that I had been the target of several scam's and my phone was being monitored by the State Police.  I politely asked them to place my number on their don't bother, don't call list and that the authorities would be contacting them as soon as possible, and that I was not a contestant on,   Are you smarter than a fifth grader.

I kinda like the accent, I'd love to hear it in a courtroom.

Just thought I'd share seeing how I'm completely bored with the drama of the day here on the database.

Have a pleasant and safe evening everyone.

Sue-Ann,

I never signed up for the so called no call list we have in this state and I get calls almost daily.  The worst offender is dish TV and they are rude, so I mess with them.   Lately its been these indian's who can barely speak english and you can barely understand what they are saying.   Kinda like calling HP support , out-sourced.    I finally put in an answering machine and caller I.D.  which is useless by the way.   They sell you the I.D. option then offer you the I.D. blocker.   Typical business practice's.  The only way to get real satisfaction is to sign a prosecution agreement with the state police and they wount tell you who they trace or give you any info on where the calls came from, another line of crap.   These indian scam's are un-traceable and they can only follow the money after it's gone and by then the people have dissappeared as well.

I have been offered refinancing, morgage loan's, free vacation's and now free gas..LOL.  I always ask for their phone number so I can call them back when I have more time, or ask for their supervisor.  Anything to mess with them.   I told the satelite guy I had rental property and could use ten unit's but he'd have to come to my home to make the deal and gave him the address of our local tavern, he still wanted my credit card number and I told him I only delt in cash as I was a drug dealer and kept my money in the trunk of my car, he wouldn't bite..    I get calls from the Indiana State Police Alliance wanting donation's they are bogus and another outfit asking for money for a church in another state.  There seems to be no end to the scam's and I feel sorry for those who fall prey to these guy's.   They waste my time so I try to waste their's when ever I can.  The answer machine is the best thing I've found yet for dealing with the computer generated recorded message's, I get a lot of those.   The worst was an obsene caller who targeted me a year or so ago.  He knew me but I could not figure out who he was the phone company would only tell me what state he was not in, I would have to agree to prosecute in writing with the state police before they would trace the call.  After telling him that they had his location and that I was ready to prosecute he finally decided to stop.

Anyway it's not being so good, its more just having so much practice.

Never give out any information over the phone.  I only do business with companies I know and I'm the one initiating the transaction, and only rarely online.  I keep a special card for online transactions and only put money in it for that transaction.

If you get one of these scammer calls  and you've got the time, mess with them a little, if you don't have the time just be rude.   Either way work's for me.

Brent.
