This is an imaginary breeding between 2 puppies from my upcoming litters.
Linebreeding - 5 generations
- 5 - 5............................................. in Astor vom Waldidyll
- 5,4 - 4........................................... in SG Arko Honest CS
- 5 - 5............................................. in V Dita od Dvoch bratov
- 5 - 5............................................. in Hera vom Fuchsgraben
- 5 - 5............................................. in SG Dolf ze Zakovy hory
- 4 - 4............................................. in Maja vom Fuchsgraben
- 3 - 3............................................. in '00&'02 WPO CHAMPION Stormfront's Brawnson
I typically don't like 3-3 linbreeding but am curious what others think of the match/linebreeding...

i typically dont care what the linebreeding/inbreeding (they are the same thing) is. i would rather take a REAL assestment of the parents, weigh out the positive and negative, cross my fingers and hope for the best.
3rd generation has a total of 8 dogs in it. you double up on one of them. so in reality you are hopeing the pups turn out to be 2/8 or 25% stormfront brawnson?
dont take this the wrong way. im not saying im against it, but is it not a little early to be wondering how a couple of pups out of different litters will turn out in a couple of years?
pending that health, tempernment, and working ability are all present, i would only worry about coated pups. i have personally seen a couple of brawson pups that were coats and did pass this on to their children.

I have heard from a person that did a 2 on 2 Brawson that 2 of the females from that litter had Uterine problems. They had good hips but poorly conformed Uterus'.

I don't think Brawnson was that good of a producer! I have a couple of dogs in my area that are WEAK for working dogs! One is a chicken shit......puts up a big tuff front but when worked his grip is all chewey and not full! I bet if a stick was ever put to this dog he would run! I think Brawnson was just a product of good training!

Yes it is early but I plan things months or years in advance when it comes to breeding...I do a ton of research, talk to people and evaulate everything and then set goals for that litter before I breed. I am a "newbie" to the breeding aspect of GSD's but want to do things "right". I have been training for just over three years which by most standards I am still a "newbie" there as well. I have only bred one litter (Feb. 2007) and produced as awesome litter and now my second litter hopefully has been bred and then hopefully soon my third. I honestly don't like the breeding part (too much worry and what if's) as I much prefer the training but have dogs that I love that I did get as older dogs and they have much to offer in a new generation of GSD's. I am planning to keep several of the puppies in the upcoming litters for myself. I sold the male I kept from the first litter and regret it every day.
Brawnson does carry the coat gene and I personally hate coated dogs (nothing against those that do like them) so the chances of gettting coated pups are greater so I probably wouldn't do the match. And then Anderson gave good information that would also keep me from doing the match. I have no wish or desire to produce ANYTHING but healthy puppies for family, service work or sport work that meet GSD standards.

Hello Brawnson was a great dog and powerhouse you are an idiot no dog is ever a product of good training you have to have good genetics.this is basic common sense crap that any great dog is 50%good genetics and 50%good training.you have to be an idiot and ignorant to judge a dog because you seen couple of bad examples and even then you have to know for sure that it is not the idiot handler.i have brawnson and if you were around a true representation of Brawnson you would know what a great dog is all about.i know i am wasting my time with this because this shit is going to go right over your head.but miracles do happen sometimes .have a nice one.

Held-
Vickie said that because I am the one who posted the question...it has NOTHING to do with the dogs or Brawnson or what he produced.
I have 2 Brawnson daughters from different mothers and both are excellent dogs with much to offer. Both are VERY different from each other but have a lot of similarities. I love the differences and the similarities in both girls and both were raised and trained differently by different people. I am VERY VERY excited about my upcoming litters from both of them.

Held,
I never said Brawnson was a bad dog.....go back and read it agian. I gave my opinion that I didn't think he was a good producer! I am sorry I offended you....this is just an opinion of mine. Name calling is not necessary! I have seen time after time people take a so so dog, which I NEVER SAID BRAWNSON WAS, and put some really good training on it and make it shine! Just look at Joanne Flemmings dog Eno......Eno was a wash out from another well known trainer/competitor.....Joanne took that dog and put some really good training on him and won the 07 DVG Nationals!
Please don't call names it does nothing for your character! What I said was an opinion and nothing more!

K9sar06,
It had nothing to do with you at all! I didn't even know who you were till I went to look to see why you would say something like that.
Oh well, whatever, believe what you want! You and I have had differences and I am not holding any grudge or anger over it. So, for me, no big deal!
Where are Brawnson progeny today? What are they doing? NO sarcasm intended AT ALL! These are questions I seriously want to know the answer too, maybe I am wrong in my opinion? Maybe we just have bad luck here to have 2 Brawnson sons that are not impressive but seem like they have weak nerves.......I don't know. I am just judging by what I have also seen in my own town.....I am willing to be educated, though, if you have positive things to add that are factual.
