I've seen everywhere that ground chicken is recommended for dogs with upset GI tracts.  I've been buying it like there is no tomorrow and serving it (browned) with white rice.  The problem is that the store ran out this evening but had ground turkey.  I'm wonding if it will fit the bill for a bland diet?   -Calvin

Calvin,

Yes, ground turkey is fine.....so is hamburger but you would want to rinse it in hot water to remove the grease after you brown it.  My vet often reccomends boiled hamburger and rice.

Turkey is fine and nothing needs to be done with it - just give the turkey raw.  Rice is not needed.  Dogs are carnivores and feeding rice is not appropriate for their diet...
