Mystere

by Mystere on 02 July 2008 - 00:07

Okay, laughing to keep from crying maybe....    Granted, some folks are probably pretty miffed.  But, frankly, I find it so funny that I am still laughing (in chagrin, among other things)  that the PNW Regional Championship winner, HIT, High HOT, and High Tracking is a  show bitch rated "sufficient" in protection.  I think I may be laughing to keep from crying, or because Mary Dygert is so devilishly gleeful that her laughter becomes contagious, but damn!!

I realize that it is not being discussed on the Internet, (other than Mary;'s "Green Board for obvious reasons) because, frankly, it is bit more than a little embarrassig, BUT.... I point to this as proof of my oft-stated point that if the show folks would put the time into the training...     Karen did and does.  So, her show line bitch, who is nobody's Godzilla, racked up a 99 point track, and even with a verhonden (sp?) rating, managed to take most of the big hardware across the border to Canada.   Consequently, I say it publicly:  Congratulations, Karen.  Congratulations, Mary--I know you are enjoying this to a very sinful degree!!

I thought it was actually cancelled?  How many entries were there?

Cancelled?  Not at all.  The location was changed, a grand total of maybe 5 miles(?), most of it straight down Highway 12, so not anything even approaching inconvenience or anything.  Essentially, not an issue operationally.

The weather was the HOTTEST this year and uncharacteristically hot for this area this time of year--period.  It was  bright sunny and mid to upper 90s all weekend.  We are not accustomed to so much SUN!!

I actually find this very disturbing.

I dont know anything about showlines, or the dog in question, but I do know working ability should be one of the most (if not the most) important factors when judging a GSD.

I am really not trying to be stupid-I swear, but from your post Mystere I can't tell if you are happy with that placement and proud or if you think its a joke?  Probably because I am not familiar with that side of the world I don't know all the players over there.

Does Mary Dygert own this dog or does Karen?

Sorry to sound ignorant.  Won't be the last time! haha

Karen Sinclair owns the bitch.  Mary owned the bitch's sire.  They co-own another bitch that Karen is making a run for USA Universal Sieger with, Ule v TeMar.  Both are dyed-in-the-wool show folks.   I am a "to the bone" working person.  We are all friends.  I am happy for Karen, because I know, respect  and like her, and because I  know how very much work she put into this bitch .  She has no illusions about her at all.   Happy about the placement?  Honestly....uh,  well, no--I am not happy about blond Double-Dutch champions, either.    But, I am STILL happy for Karen.

And, no, not a joke--nothing that takes the effort training and titling a dog to a Sch 3 can ever be a joke.  Trialing under that HOT sun can never be a joke (I mean it was AFRICA-HOT!!).  The helpers involved in the trial are both strong (yet safe) helpers, so there was no quarter given and no punches pulled.  Again, not a joke.   But, let's face it--WHO would have EVER expected a show line bitch to be a regional champion in a region where most folks are working-line people?  Hell, I was surprised she was entered at all.

You don't sound ignorant, Carter.  I am just that ambivalent.    And, that Mary is just that devilishly (some might even say bitchily) GLEEFUL!!
