Has anyone ever encountered dogs that are capable of being vocal; but during work it become so focused that it forgets(?) to bark? The dog in question is extremely prey-driven and confident. He is vocal during courage tests, and growls on the sleeve, but otherwise he won't bark. Is this a problem, and if so what are the best methods to ensure a dog gets his bark on during practices and routines?

Email me privately and I can explain the process that might get the dog to bark. How old is the dog? Did someone else train it before? It is a matter of frustrating the dog until it makes some noise, then rewarding it for that. Soon, it is likely you will be sorry you asked how to get the dog to bark.
