I know this family really well and have to say that they are all really sad because of the mistake they have made. It's hard to blame just one side, but someone who isn't really experienced in raising puppies has no clue what it takes to train a good dog. They never had a puppy before and the breeder never warn them of how difficult it will be. All she said is that with help it is 'doable'. But there is other side of the deal. One needs to dedicate a lot of time to a puppy, to train it well to obey and to become a family pet, etc. In one household it will be very challenging with three little ones. They all need a lot of individual attention and it will only increase in next few months or even years. I'm pretty sure if the breeder would oppose getting three dogs at the same time that family would have never done it. They really love them all, but in the best interest of the puppies at least one should get a new home. And please not the Breeder's home! If she let this situation to happen I have serious doubt that the best interest for puppies is her priority.

Both are part of the problem, and both must fix the problem. The breeder should take the pup back, refund the money, and find a new home for it. The people who bought the three pups need to get some serious help and training so they know how to properly raise the remaining dogs. Otherwise, soon we will hear again about the two left with the family and the dogs will be in some kind of trouble. When people make mistakes like this, the animals pay the price. I hope the family will do the right thing and the breeder learns from this mistake.

That would be a great point if the breeder hadn't warned them first. If they don't listen they can't blame the breeder. I think the breeder should have stuck to his guns though. I don't think it's 50/50 responsibility. I think both were 100% responsible for the choise they made.
