Please take the time to watch at least the first 4 minutes of the first video and the last 6 minutes of the second.

When we were in the academy, we had an instructor for a street survival class who started the class by saying, I have something I want you to think about, when your times comes how do you all want to die?" We were kind of taken a back by the question. He said, "You wll want to die heros, right?" Almost everyone agreed. He said, "That's great. Heroes. They sure bury us pretty don't they. You get buried with a flag draped over your casket, bagpipes playing, 21 gun salute, and hundreds of LE officers come from miles around and escort you to your grave with patrol lights flashing. Six months later 75% of the people at your funeral will forget your name. You will be know as "that officer or deputy that died back in......
When you are all out there trying to be heroes, I want you to think about your mother, your husband or wife, and your children. I myself want to die at 90, sitting in a chair with a grandchild on my lap, and an old dog at my feet. My advice to you is to not try to die a hero, but an old grandma or grandpa."
This was not to disrespect any officers who died in the line of duty, but to put us in the mindset to survive on the street. If I could, I would tell you the details of his death, but I can't. I can tell you without question, Tony died a hero.
I know times are tight but if you can please help Tony's children. He was only 4 years into his career so his benifits are limited.

Thank you everyone.
Shandra I am sure there is a way to do a bank transfer. I would contact the bank for instructions.
To those who have contacted me offering to donate in my name. I appreciate the gesture but becasue of my profession I do not give personal info out over the internet to people I do not know. If any of you are worried this is some kind of scam, I assure you it is not.
Please donate if you can. It does not have to be in my name. I just want to help Tony's family.
Thank you

Its a great idea. I'm sorry for your loss. He was a hero, but as you said it would have been better for him to be a grandpa
