or have them on their "Do not sell to" List? The name is Mike F Minto, in Seattle. I am helping a friend place her pups and was contacted by this person wanting a pup, the email kind of doesnt sit right, so I figured I would ask those that are contacted by alot of folks. Thanks

I have no intention of giving home info, I will give shop info and directions if I find that this is after suitable. This email just nags at me of "SCAM" in a big way. Maybe I am just uncomfortable because it is out of state.

email I recieved

Hello Therese,
I am very glad to read from you .I will be glad to have your puppy for my son.....I am located in seattle  and i have a fenced environment.I am buying this puppy as a companion for my ife and children so it will be strictly and indoor  pet.The gae of my son is 19yrs.i personally onces own a german shepherd and i love this breed of puppy.I will be interested in buying one of your famle pups and i will prefer to choose the black and cream pup the price for this is okay by me and i will like to inform you that the payment for this is going to be in the form of a check which will cover the fund for the puppy and also the shipping fees to my location.I will not want you to bother your self about the shipping cos i have a shipper that will come down to your location for the pickup of the puppy. He will be coming by road cos the vet doctor advice that the puppy should not be fly to our location that it is safe by road.
So kindly provide me with your full information in other  to mail out the check to you in the format below:

full Name
Physical address:.......(not p.o.box pls)
City:
state:
Home and Cell phone #:

I will also like you to give me a direction to your home for my shipper that will be coming for the pick.

Note:I will not be able to come down for the pickup my self because I am on an official assigment out of the state,i came accross the ads of the puppy when i was surfing the internet.

Thanks and hope to read from you soonest.

Best Regards

Mike Minto

You got that right.  Major scam.  Been through this with a snowmobile we were trying to sell online a couple of years ago.  FBI got involved when I went to my bank and asked the head of the cashiering department to check out the cashiers check that they guy sent me that I already knew was fake.  I called the bank that it supposedly came from and they let me know that it was a fake.  They called the FBI right away.  They told me I would never know if they caught the guy though!  If I would have cashed that check, it would have been on me!  not the person who wrote it.....

Huge scam!!!!!!!!!!  Suprised he says he's so close. usually they say they are in Nigeria or something ans will be sending their shipper to your home to pick up.

Don't touch it, otherwise report it as a scam but probably nothing they can do.

My goodness , Shandra....havent you been reading our posts...Number one Scam in the land...dont you remember me telling you about the same woman that   Troy got to, got the same email from three men on her ad in the Houston paper and they alsways say just what yours did...She actually got a cashiers Bank America cheque and took it to her bank,,gullible enough to believe it was real....The bank kept it and her husband lambblasted the man on his email and Bank AMerica got the cheque,,but cant be traced....

Never answer ads like that...They get the ads out of papers and they are scams , and very dangerous people...Block his email addy from your computor and under no circumstances take a   call from landline from a deaf person either....they have a name for it. and it is a scam also......

Girl , you got to be careful and glad you ask...

See ya,

See, I have learned something here LOL

I remembered erading the posts, but they were always from someone outside of the country, I get those "Share the wealth" emails all the time, this is the first time I had come across something like this so I wanted to check and make sure.

Thanks again folks :)

Dont even reply   block the email  ...do not give any info to him...and he will try a different name in a few days...The first time the Wrights blocked there reply person,,he came back at them with a different name and place...so be prepared...

Also there are internet robots that get your phone number so you need to post your ad that says   call    936   fifty one thirty three..,   so the robots dont and cannot use it...My son advised me of that this last week when he was here...Im a dummie about this  Internet stuff...but try to learn and be careful...

I love the emails that have in the subject....Hi     or   Hello     and that is all..

You open one or two and its sex solicitation....So I dont open any of them now.  lol

I had someone do something similar on a freshwater silver arowana I was selling.  told me she was in Las Vegas, couldn't call me since she was deaf ect ect.  the check she sent me wasn't even in her name,  it was in a guys name from clear across the country.  plus I googled the address she gave me,  and the satelite showed an empty lot.

these people do not give up!
