I beg to differ on those who say the Pups are Inbred and not line bred

Firstly is Nick v Heilgenbosch, related to the Bitch he was mated with Taila v Tiekerhook

If Nic is not related to Taila

then because he was mated to his own daughter does not make the Pups of that litter inbred

They are Line Bred

Simply because in effect the parents of Both Nick and Taila are unrelated to each other

And if this is the case, both Parents were bred of a Cross and by then mating a Sire to his daughter the Pups are then Line Bred.meaning bred to a line

To have one from a Son of Nick would be great, and the Owner says if he breeds from the Pups one day they can be put to a different line and in another generation or so, could possibly be bought back to the Nick line once again

I do not think the owner will breed defective Dogs in Stature of Mentally from this breeding

Steve1,  Apparently you don't understand the defintion of "inbreeding".  Inbreeding is: The breeding of closely realted individuals such as sire/daughter, dam / son, brother/sister ect...

Or as is sometimes said: "It is LINE breeding if it "works" and INbreeding if it doesn't"

Racing CH

Sorry i do know the art of inbreeding and line breeding and Outcrossing I have been doing excatly that for 58 years with racing pigeons which has kept me at the very Top in all England National racing the highest you can go in England and now after only three years making an Inpact in Belgium of the famous most revered of al ALL Europe,

and my family has been kept together now for 24 years without a cross of another family of pigeons, and you can only do that by inbreeding and line breeding

Inbreeding is only inbreeding when you mate two close items together, but only if they are of the same common ancesters Now if the parents of Manus are unrelated to the parents of Talia, then by mating Sire and Daughter together is NOT inbreeding but line breeding

Now if the said Parents ARE related to each other that of Manus and Talia, then YES by mating MANUS and TALIA that is INBREEDING You have fallen into the trap of which many get confused with

If two DOGS are unrelated to each other then when you mate them the progeny are a first cross, Then by mating SIRE and DAUGHTER together the Progeny are then Children and G,Children of the Sire I certainly do know what i am talking about, it is you you think that by the fact father and daughter is being mated together the pups are then a subject of inbreeding

It is the way or lines of the parents of the two Dogs which are the factor if they are unrelated to each other then by using the one Dog in this case MANUS then you are Line Breeding to him

Now If i go back to Pigeons, which of course are not Dogs In there case the Sons take 50% from the Sire and the Dam The DAUGHTERS are sex linked only to the Sire 100% they take nothing from there dam

What the breeder of these Pups has said, he can if he breeds from these Pups in due course bring them into another line unrelated to Manus, or the common factor Dog in this Breeding is NICK So really these Pups are Line bred back to NICK v H

Now i will tell you what is inbreeding in my explanation above

If say you mate two of the above pups together, i,e brother and sister of MANUS and his DAUGHTER

then you will be INBREEDING, simply because both parents have the same common ancesters in the immediate generations

What we deen to be unehical in the human race does not apply to livestock if it is done with care and a lot of planning goes into the future generation to the one you are doing at the present time you have to plan ahead and i believe the owner of MANUS has done excatly that,

Steve
