Yes, I posted a thread about this food a few months ago. It almost killed one of my dogs and made others very sick. I will never again feed it. I feed Canidae, Eagle Pack, and raw now. Nutro was great for awhile, but then mine started having nasty, terrible diarrhea, thought is was giardia, but it wouldn't clear up with treatment. Dogs started not wanting to eat the Nutro. Igel got very sick, his kidney and liver enzymes were off the chart, was close to death, all thanks to Nutro. He is not the only one who has suffered with similar symptoms from Nutro either. It seems to affect senior dogs and puppies worse than others.

Thank god i took my dogs off of this food a LONG time ago! I shamefully admit that I was feeding my dogs nutro max. I don't think the company would want to encounter me in the resulting in a death of one of my dogs. I would make this company go bankruptcy.

The 2 German Shepherd puppies posted in that article were mine. I will fight these people down to the nail.
We are doing private testing of the food right now. It is a shame.

Dear Birgit,
I am so sorry about what happened to poor little Anna and Anja. Thank God you figured out where the trouble was from before it killed all of them. A good friend of mine lost several cats this year and she feeds Nutro. She called them and they convinced her that all that kidney failure was just coincidence.
Some years back (98/99), I switched to raw food due to one dog's allergies (soy, sunflower oil, safflower oil, flax). Now I look at that as probably having saved my dogs. One lived to be 13 and the other 11 1/2.. My puppy has been fed raw since I picked him up at 8 weeks.
I used to be afraid of raw chickens and now I am afraid of kibble. If I get a bad chicken, it's just a short term problem. The next chicken is probably fine. Chickens are not created in huge batches. If I get bad kibble, that could be a long lasting issue (40 lb bag x several bags from the same batch).
I do not think that we really know the country of origin of some of these ingredients. Brands often change suppliers for "commodities" in their feed.
It really is suspicious that they just changed recipes and bags have been pulled from distribution.
