Xandor just came in and he did something to himself but I didn't hear or see anything.  One of his front toenails has been ripped up and over and it looks almost like I could pull it out.  It looks an inch longer than when he went outside.

It is NOT bleeding though and he's not limping or worrying about it.  He's actually snoring next to me.

He'll have to go to the vet in the morning because no way can you touch his feet without bloodshed...my bloodshed.   Why do they always do this on Sunday?

Anyone ever have an injury like that without a dog bleeding like a stuck pig?  I've had hunting dogs rip nails off before but haven't seen anything like this one.

At least he doesn't have a canker on his lady parts.  Me thinks you could use the vodka too.

I have had three  males do the same thing on a week end....the  nails are so thick and tough on these males , it is impossible to get ahold of it and hold the dog from nailing you, because our nail cutters wont cut it quick enough and fast enough.....One of my males finally dropped his in two days but he tore it back further,,,I put  styptic on on it for two days and it was ok...sprayed it  daily after the bleeding stopped with antiseptic spray.....

but on had to go to vet for a nail cut....He will be ok till tomorrow...good luck

unless you can muzzle him and tie him to the porch rail and have some good cutters.   lol

Let's see.....pay airfare from the U.K. or pay my vet to hogtie Xandor and cut the nail?  I'm thinking I'll probably go with the vet.

How about YOU pay MY airfare to the tropics and we can both bitch about our countries?  Pina Colada anyone?
