Over the years I have had many nice West German dogs and one absolutely fabulous one and that would be the late Narro von der Kine SchH3 100-96-100 in Germany right before I got him.  Polo z Danaru now SchH1 is my first Czech dog and there is a distinct difference in that he is more aloof as he is border patrol bred but has really excellent pack drive with my other young dogs.  He is affectionate with me but not with others though he tolerates others, and like Melanie's Andy is not a needy dog at all.  He is most happy when he is working and yet as high as his drives are, he is quiet in his 700 crate no matter if other dogs are barking their heads off and very tolerant of any situation I put him in.  I just love his centeredness and his confidence in all situations and if this is typical of many Czech police bred dogs ----- I am all for it!

Sounds a little like my czech/ddr male....He is not what I would call a needy dog though he thrives in family type envirnments, especially not the one to go crazy in his crate for no reason, tolerant like you said would be a good word, to me he is nicley balanced dog that shows proper behavior......p.s. your dogs kennel name is interesting. Is there any way you could pm his lineage or pedigree?

I can say that because we have many Czech/ DDR line dogs here that this does tend to be the norm for my dogs as well. I would not give them up for anything .  I am glad you are enjoying your boy.

Polo is out of York Venusina Sopka who is a out of Tom z Pohranicnic Straze and Tula Venusina Sopka.  His mother is Lexa z Danaru whhhho is out of Dargo zo Sekiera and Flame z Danaru.  If you type z Danaru into the net the kennel  owned by Danuse Raabova should pull up.  York is a working police dog in Czechoslovakia and I have sent videos and pictures of Polo to Yorkk's owner with the help of Zbynek Divis of Aritar Bastet who owned Tom's mother. and of course Danuse (Danar) is in contact too which is nice.

I've alway been in love with the Czech lines, and base our kennel from Czech lines. Also a big Andy Maly Vah fan so much that we have a litter here sired by him.
