Hey guys,

Any thoughts on Eukanuba? is it a good dog food? i saw on their website that they have a GSD specialty food as well. Anyone give this or the regular adult food for their dogs? any opinions?

Thanks,

Mav

I use Eukanuba with NO PROBLEMS at all , I also use Royal Canin and Bento Kronen.  All three of them produce less stools and of excellent consistancy.

I feed Eukanuba Premium Performance - Sporting formula to most of my adult dogs.  I have a senoir dog on Iams Chunks and puppies get Iams puppy.  Over the years I've tried many different premium foods and ALWAYS end up back with Eukanuba and Iams.  Reduced stool volume and overall health always takes me back to Iams/Eukanuba.

Much, much better stuff on the market to feed your dog.

>  I used it with grat sucess with my K-9 partner (Justice). I started him on Iams puppy and when he turned a year switched him to Eukanuba. he was the perfect picture of health until his untimely death.

I  to have used it and found that it has produced steady growth. Have been  asked to try most products in the more expensive range and have always come back to Euk, The dogs do not appear to get bored with it either.

The GSD food was trialed with the dogs present on the stand over the 4 days at Crufts in 2007 and none refused it or had any tummy complications during  those  days. We all  took 15 kg home and contimued the process of the trial.

Very impressed.

I would suggest though  it could be horses for courses and what suits one animal is not anothers  cu

I was introduced to a meat diet for all of my dogs by a good friend with knowledge of this way of feeding.  I now only keep in Eukanuba for the "silly days".  That is when I forget to get it out and de-frost the meat, or when I allow myself to get low and my delivery isnt until Friday.

I have to say I went through the range of good complete foods, and Euk does all of the things that previous posts here say - I have to return to it because of that.  It never lets me down.  However, it doesnt match up to fresh meat, and my dogs think so too.  I dont mix the two, as I have been told they digest at different levels, and that makes sense, but they do well on both.

However, I have to say that we have a couple of dogs in for residential training that are on Arden Grange, and they look superb and their coats, stools, and general behaviour is excellent - so - horses for courses.  Mine go loopy on any form of Arden Grange and are hard to handle, I`m sorry to have to say.   Mo - Mascani

Eukanuba is created by Iams. I used to feed Eukanuba until I looked into the Iams company further.  I must say that it was eye opening.

I went to raw food. I also feed Fromm Four Star and Orijen.  I only feed premium food that is human grade and ethical.

So my choices are raw, Orijen and then Fromm.

In that order :)

If you want more info on why I left Eukanuba - PM me.
