I know this is not a perfect stack but I am learning, please give me your honest Critique without  Bashing me or the dog because he is a longcoat. Khan is 8 month old. Any Suggestions on Stacking and how to take pictures would be appreciated.

Bridgette I think he is pretty. I would say try to take the pic so there aren't the shadows, it takes away and harder to see his off back leg. Also have his attention forward so he is looking that direction with head up a bit, making a third person with a ball or something he likes necessary. Get down on the level of the dog and take the pic focused on his middle piece. Using the pic to the right his front legs need to be further under him and his back leg closest to the camera is to strectched, needs to be more like the pic on the left. My humble opinion...

She means his front legs are bridged, angled too far forward. You did a better job with his front in the top pic, if that helps you see the difference.  In the bottom pic his rear leg is over extended, in the top one, I think not quite enough. And yes, kneeling down to take the photo at the dogs level with his head forward will make him look so much less lengthy. Have a third person stand in front of him and hold something interesting, like a toy, up over their head to bring his head up a bit, this will also make his topline look nicer and make him look more alert.  Also, on a sunny day, the photographer's back should be to the sun, this will cut down on shadows over the dog's body itself.

Your boy has very nice color, masculine head, looks to me like good front angulations.  He looks just a touch heavy in these pictures but that could be his coat and the contrast of the pictures. On the upside, very bright midday sun can be unforgiving in photos and can wash a lot of dogs color out, depending on your camera and film, and his pigment still looks great.

I had a partial major in photography in college, nice to know it was worth something, huh?
