I would wait till shes 2 years or so old ,still growing best, around that age .

Yes, 2 years minimum.

would it matter for trial whether she is spayed or not?

For show yes. For working it would not.

Keeping a female intact has no developmental privilages to the female, especially because this female has already had hormonal problems with her heat cycle. I would recommend spaying her as soon as possibly (before her next heat cycle) She is at a higher risk for pyometra (infection of the euterus, possibly fatal) and further false pregnancy. It will be better for her to be spayed.

I agree with Olga Ashley - if you are seriously considering having her spayed, do it now. Spaying whilst still young also reduces the incidences of mammary tumours.

I dont understand why you would not be discussing this with your vet.

If your girl is already showing reproductive issues like you've described, then she needs a vet exam first and foremost.
Spaying too early (before she is mature) will lock her into a perpetual puppy state (won't properly develop full characteristics and etc if spayed too young). You say your girl is 15 mos old so that shouldn't be a factor to you to worry about. If she's been through 1-2 heat cycles, then she should be adequately mature. I never recommend spaying before the first heat. Is she a pet/companion, or are we dealing with a competition dog?
If you're going to spay her, you should be ok to spay her at this age; I don't really understand why people here are suggesting you wait until she's 2 and thus maybe go through another bout of this that you've done described unless your girl is a show dog or something. You might wanna ask prior to scheduling surgery that you'd like to know the condition of the uterus post-op (if there were any abnormalities, growths, etc in the uterus-if you don't ask prior to surgery, then they might throw it away and you won't get a chance to know anything about the condition of her uterus). If they tell you she had tumors or issues, then a course of antibiotics would be good.
One friend of mine had her 15 mos old GSD female spayed because she would come into heat, go out, come back in 2 mos later, go back out, etc. Post-op spay surgery showed the female's uterus was full of black tarry stuff and benign tumors, so she was put on an antibiotic post-spaying to make sure no infection caused problems for the female. It was a WISE move to spay her and get that mess out. She never had health problems from it and is still fine.
Best wishes with your situation.
