The local shelter has a male German Shepherd with tattoo# AJ2HYB1 or 7. I contacted USA as it's a USA tattoo and they were able to offer some information. The dog is from the Mid Eastern Region and was probably tattooed by a vet or someone outside their region. The kennel code beginning with H has not been issued yet.
If anyone is familiar with this tattoo or missing a male German Shepherd. Please contact me!

the first digit A states that the dog is from our region (Northeast)!! USA should be able to say which tattooer has the digit "J". The dog is 5 to 6 years old (born in 2002), and the kennel code is "HY". It was the breeder's B-litter.

The J is the 'tattooed out of region' or 'vet code'. They have not issued any H kennel codes yet in this region, they are still on G. It seems like a tattoo that's close to the USA code but of a home grown variety.

what color or type is the dog? that might help with other info for whatever breeder tatooed the dog maybe?

The dog is a well kept conformation line male about 5 years old. His tattoo is AJ2HYB1. He was found near Montclair, VA. Any information appreciated.
