Why are the tiniest dogs always the nastiest? My neighbors have 2 dachunds that try to attack my GSD's if we are walking to the park and they are loose. It's all cute and funny until the big dogs bite back.

I have a Cairn along with my GSD's (not mine but my son's) and he is a nasty little guy. Everyone fears this guy and not the big ones...kind of funny.

I'm finding out very quickly about small dogs and their attitudes.

Here is my new Rat Terrier pup tormenting one of the Bengals.   Even the GSD's don't take on this particular cat. (The Bengal won by the way)

wow that cat is beautiful

i agree, the cat is beautiful! wish i could have another cat. we had a jack russell who was one of the meanest little dogs i've ever known. we nearly got kicked out of a puppy ob class and did get kicked out of a reg ob class because he kept trying to attack the german shepherd and the great dane in the class. he hated every dog he ever met, but one (a female jack). had a bad attitude up the wazoo. i can't count all the times i was bitten or my son or the vet techs or the gardener. the last straw was when i tried to remove him from my son's pizza and he bit me in the face, puncturing my cheek and splitting the area just to the side of my "lip dip". had to go to emergency room and get stitches and a tetanus shot. since we have a ton of great nieces/nephews, great grandkids, we had to have him put down. it was the only time i've seen my husband sob (cry, yes, but not actually sob). the dog was one of the funniest and smartest little shits except when he was trying to kill everyone. most little dogs have that "napoleon complex" thing going on. i don't think i'll ever ever get another small dog again. certainly not a terrier.

Napoleon Complex is right.  I had quite a few small dogs. Staffy Bull mix, Rat Terriers, Daschunds all took no crap from the bigger dogs.  I am kind of partial right now to Mini Pincher.

Next door to me lives the neighborhood terror. A Pekingese, that will bite your ankle when you turn your back to her. Seen this dog back down a rottie. Once in a when I get home from dog training I have to scan the yard to she is out or not. Last time the neighbor  bathed her and had her outside to dry off,  she got out and as soon as I got My GSD out of the crate, she charged me and my GSD. Imagine Cousin "IT" running at you.

The reason so many little dogs are so damn unruly is simple, people don't train them! They figure because they are little and cute, the behaviors are acceptable, or worse, they humanize them. A 5 pound lunging, snapping, maltese is funny to many people, make it an 80 pound GSD and now people are terrifed and those owners are calling up a dog trainer. What small breed owners often fail to see is how dangerous aggressive behavior is in a small dog, for their own safety.
