Does anyone feed Innova Evo dog food to there dogs? Is it good quality kibble? I am just curious due to the fact that I have been reading all the bad comments about Nutro.

I've been feeding Innova for years now, with excellent results. We have a Mali and a young GSD both on Innova EVO, but I have also used Innova Puppy and Innova Adult. They are doing so well on EVO that when I visited another SchH club, one of the members, who feeds only raw, asked me if I fed raw myself because my GSD had that healthy raw-fed glow about him. I used to feed raw, Oma's Pride, but once I switched to EVO I can honestly say I saw no difference except softer stools.
I have dug around for alternatives, but I can't find a better quality kibble that would justify me switching brands. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody somewhere somehow had problems feeding EVO, but I would not expect that would anything other than an anomaly.

It's interesting your question would come up at this time. I have been feeding EVO (the chicken-based formula) for six months with good results. I opened a new bag the end of last week and my dog has had diarrhea since then. I was online checking to see if there were any comments about EVO. I'm concerned that the newest bag of food is causing my dog's problem and will be changing her diet today. She's blowing her coat right now but that has no connection to the feeding issue. Her activity level seems normal but she is losing weight.
I would be interested if anyone else has seen a change in their dogs reaction to recent purchases of this food.

I switched to a combination of Evo and Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato, 2 parts Evo to 1 part NB. I wanted something just a touch lower protien so decided on these two to blend. And needed totally grain free. The dogs look the best they have for quite a while. The one with allergies has shown no adverse reaction at all. The only problem is one is gaining weight.......... So she is on more of a 50/50 mix

I fed the Innova Adult with good results. I looked into EVO but the protein % was way too high for my liking and my vet and others advised against it.

I switched to Innova 4 months ago and love it!!!! I have not had one complaint about the switch.

My earlier post may not have been clear. I do not mean to suggest that EVO is the cause of my dogs diarrhea. I am searching for the cause. Up to this point I have been very pleased with the results I've seen with EVO. I'm just casting a very broad net looking for possible culprits. As an example, I'm checking with the gardener to see if he has used any products in the yard recently.

I have been feeding EVO (chicken based formula) for a few years now. I've been very happy with the results. The stool size has decreased and I feed less of the EVO than I did with other foods. The coats look and feel great. Probably wouldn't recommend it if it were for a puppy given the protein is at 42% (I think) but like SchHBabe mentioned they have Innova puppy as well.
The only thing that I'm not happy with is the continued increase in price. I have considered Natural Balance, California Natural or Chicken Soup as an alternative. Would probably only save about $30 (if that) a month and that's isn't enough of a savings to consider switching.
SchHBabe - funny you should mention Olma's Pride. One of the guys that I work with feeds that and loves it. I was considering trying it but desperately lack the freezer space in my side-by-side refrigerator. Glad to know the results with EVO and the raw were similiar for you. Kibble is much easier to store!
Good luck!

I have used EVO in the past and it was wonderful. But nothing beats the raw diet....
