A new record for speed deletion has been set. My apologies to other posters on the now deleted thread "Is this website bias free". Apparently something I said caused indigestion for someone since within moments literally it went "poof".
We really do seem to be homing someone's magician's skills. On the odd chance it wasn't my post but someone else's here it is again for anyone who might remotely be interested in reading it.
Delacruz re your statement " But People come on don't bash a breeder in the ground because the dog is oversized " the impressions I have received is the point was not that the dog was oversized, the point was a breeder who basically was saying - do what I say not what I do. I.E. insisting on breeding to the SV standard etc etc but when that standard comes around and bites him in the butt all of a sudden it's the system that is wrong and of course he is still going to breed and promote the dog EVEN tho the system which he has promoted says by refusing a koer that the dog is not of breeding quality. It's a bitch to be taken and it's obvious that DP was "taken" for a ride by some of his German "friends" and now we all have to suffer because of it. Being an American, I understand clearly that anyone can choose to breed anything they want . If DP and other people choose to breed a dog that has a fault which under the SV system renders the dog undesirable for breeding - that is their choice and their choice alone. Trying to convince the world that the dog does not have that fault is a whole other matter. Having temper tantrums because better connected people get away with things one does not - is just that - having temper tantrums. Note I am not saying not to address the issue of oversize but there are better ways of doing than what I have seen DP doing and I believe at this point he is "stewing in his own juices" - a saying we have over here.
Dawn I personally do not see how posting koer information which is public and can be confirmed is or should be a violation of the TOS.
I also happen to agree with Bancroft's post " For example, I will want to know if there are problems with the stud being oversized, fails a courage test, passess on kidney disorders etc. before i begin to consider breeding a bitch to it. " That is what a board like this should allow us to find out.
Additional I have had a number of posts that DID NOT violate TOS ( I do not engage in personal attacks but try to address issues factually). The only possible reason for the deletion of my posts was I expressed an opinon or brought forth facts which DP did not like. I have emailed Oli each time it happened and never so much as received the courtesy of a response. [ this was confirmation of another poster's comment in the orig thread that the TOS are very selectively enforced ]
If Oli does not respond to the allegations about DP's involvement and control of this board (of which there is no proof right now other than the obvious free rein he is given to delete information which challenges his world view), ultimately people will come to believe the allegations. Will people stop using the PDB - probably not. Will KNOWLEDGEABLE people stop posting to the messagelist - quite likely which is sad because they have much to offer the breed and newbies to the breed. Will people still post on the board - quite likely until they realize the bias and self-promotion. This will result in less page views which impacts Oli and the financial health of the board. This will become a revolving cycle as time goes on and the messagelist reputation develops. I already know several very knowledgeable people who no longer post here just because of

Hi There!
The post is still there. Look under my name and click. My brain now hurts about too many posts about one person. I too want peace from this. Let England fight their own German Shepherd war on this man, but let the Pedigree Database be what it is supposed to be about. THE GERMAN SHEPHERD! America has it's own problems with the AKC, and certain breeders who should not be breeding!

Hi Dawn, Actually it did go away - I not only searched the first two messagelist pp but did a google search for it before posting this thread. Posted this and magically the original thread reappeared BUT with my post deleted. Hmmm. As I said we are obviously giving some magician's practice.
As I noted above sad to say I think the ultimate loser will be the board and those new to the breed. Unfortunate.

Dawn: What do you mean when you say "Let England fight their own war"? I am pretty sure the majority of people (including Tigermouse) involved in this particular skirmish are British, so therefore they ARE discussing something that pertains to themselves.

BUT........ It is FLAMING, in some of the posts, and that is not right, THAT IS MY POINT!! This is seen WORLDWIDE, I do not think any one of us who posts wants our names dragged thru the mud. Would you? Who is D.P.? Just initials to me.
How many degrading posts and accusations of certain breeders here in the USA and in Canada were stopped RIGHT AWAY? AND DELETED? Is the UK any better? NOT! AND how is this helping? It's only hurting the breed!
Tigermouse,
Dog people are the same everywhere. The only thing different is the accent and the language! You are always welcome to come here anytime!

Just let it go, don't worry about it. If you don't like a topic, ignore it. I imagine Oli and his mods have registered your displeasure, so that's all you can do.

Dawn Since I started this thread I have to presume this statement was directed at me - "BUT........ It is FLAMING, in some of the posts, and that is not right, THAT IS MY POINT!! This is seen WORLDWIDE..." If not please inform me. What I would like to know is what I have said that you consider flaming. I have never ever been accused of flaming so just to be sure we are talking about the same thing I looked it up. Wikipedia states "Flaming is the hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users .. and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Similarly, a normal, non-flame message may have elements of a flame -- it may be hostile, for example -- but it is not a flame if its author seriously intends to advance the discussion. " This certainly has always been my intention.
I'd like to suggest you use the search function and pullup all my posts and all the posts by Videx. Read them with the above definition in mind as well as the quotes below. Then tell me who best fits the profile of a flamer.
Continued from Wikipedia "Flame-bait is a public statement deliberately designed to provoke flames. Usually those who post flame-bait are looking for attention. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree. And from Netiquette " One sure way to escalate a flame war is to expand the battleground. This can be accomplished by carbon copying the world on your flames or by cross-posting your flame to other discussion groups. " (n.b. see recent posts asserting that's exactly what Videx does) cont. - "There's nothing worse than an escalating flame war that barges into the middle of a civil discussion. Usually the innocent readers didn't witness the beginning of the war and thus don't have the context necessary to pick the winner. ...People who post flagrantly offensive flames like this are either flexing their net.muscles, or desperately crying out for attention, or some combination of those things.
Finally from Netiquette "In the worst-case scenario, a protracted flame war can destroy a discussion group." Is this not what this thread is about - suggesting Oli needs to retake control before this happens.
Finally posting factual comments about an individual or his animal or even well thought out and presented opinions based on public information can not be considered flaming under any definition that I could find.

Please note I just notice that my last two sentences of the OP are missing. I have tried to edit it but it will not take it so here they are.
This will result in less page views which impacts Oli and the financial health of the board. This will become a revolving cycle as time goes on and the messagelist reputation develops. I already know several very knowledgeable people who no longer post here just because of this kind of BS. Oli apparently started this board out of a love for the GSD. I can only hope that he has the courage of a GSD and will stand up for the integrity of the board. If not - what a shame. Just MHO.
