Hello to you all...
I would appreciate input from those of you who have imported GSD's from Germany and which were registered with the SV.
1. What is the customary and usual time frame you have experienced, for receiving papers for the dog you purchase from person who owns/sells the dog or acts as selling agent?
2. If you don't recveive papers as part of the transaction, following delivery of the dog and as was promised with the sale, who is the governing entity/ person, or department at the SV, that is in charge of investigating problems with obtaining paperwork, and
3. What recourse is available through the SV or AKC to those needing help to put pressure on the sellers to force them to be accountable and send paperwork for the dog purchased?
Has anyone had experience with purchasing a bitch for breeding, when well after the fact and after breeding attempts you later learn the dog was sold... while still in Germany... to said **Agent** specifying to **Agent** dog was being sold "NOT FOR BREEDING" and was to be neutered... at which point upon proof of being neutered papers would be provided..., but instead after purchase, dog was later somehow titled and sold as a breeding dog to US, with papers never being delivered to you after the sale?
Your input will be greatly appreciated...

I get the papers when the dog arrives. I believe you got a big mess here....

How long have you been waiting? Have you contacted the person you bought the dog from to inquire? What do they tell you is the reason for not getting papers yet?

It sounds like you have two different issues here.
The last paragraph makes it sound like the person you bought from misreprented the dog to you. If that's the case you may have major problems......
As far as how long to get papers, I've had them arrive within a couple weeks as the sellers took care of the transfer in Germany for me. I also had one set honestly get lost in the mail for 4-months. The postmark proved they had been sent when the seller said he had mailed them. By that time I had already requested the forms to replace lost papers from the SV, thank goodness those forms were not needed as that is a long process.......

I bought the dog in June of 2007...and I was told her papers were supposedly waiting for return from SV for recording onto her pedigree, and if my memory is correct, she stated trainer in Germany had copies which he would send me when he returned from a show that weekend (now a year ago!!) ...(I received via email scorrespondence during purchase process a copy of her Show results in the class she showed in, which has been confirmed by the SV>>>) This was the only paperwork that I received copy of from seller, which only by chance also gave me the SV number of the female I was purchasing along with registered name of the owner at that time, ) with seller's written email promise that paperwork would all be copied and sent to me by that weekend by the trainer.
Never have received even the copies as seller promised...
I bought this dog for breeding and stated clearly to seller that this was my intent for buying her. Seller who stated she was owner of dog, who was acting as agent of the sale as well, had the dog imported over here into the US for over a year without ever transferring the papers into her name...of course this was not learned about by me until long after my purchase.
It makes it pretty difficult to use a dog with this scenario for breeding, when you have nothing on the dog, no paperwork copies, not even something such as a bill of sale...
Unfortunately, yes, this dog was also seriously misrepresented as well...
as a breeding dog, I was told she had never been bred.
Turned out to be very untrue...
I have two separate stories about her breeding history, which I later learned after purchase that she had herself directed two breedings on this female after she arrived here in the states, trying her with two different studs, both coming up with no conception. Then only very recently learning that the dog had been attempted to be bred while still in Germany, again with no resulting conception. She of course knew this, and bought the dog for $800.00 (mabe Euro...not sure on that point yet) and then sold the dog to me for $5500.00 USD. A nice tidy profit I would say...

I believe that would be considered fraud.
by Czech DDR Lover on 08 June 2008 - 06:06
Yes, I would agree...this was definately fraud...
but this seller apparently knows all the ropes, and routinely does this to buyer after buyer, and yet she continues to fly under the radar without being made to make good on finalizing her sales...
That was why I had asked if someone has had a similar registration paper difficulty, and found a name for a particular person at the SV who is responsible for checking into and investigating these types of fraudulent dog sales...
I found the registration department there to be completely useless in the matter.
Do any of you who might be legal specialists and lawyers have a recommendation as to how I could file a claim against her, represent myself in court, and bring charges of fraud without spending another arm and leg in legal fees on top of what I have already paid out for an unbreedable dog which I will need to place into a pet home?
I went to the local county courthouse to file fraud charges in small claims court against her, but I was told I cannot bring this to small claims court because she does not live in my county... I feel I should pursue this because I know that many others will be harmed by this seller, as bad or worse as I was, if she is not made to be responsible for her actions. And I would like to place this dog into a good family pet home.

Seriously, if any of you reading this are attorneys or legal specialists, your advice as to how I might file charges of fraud against this seller, and represent myself in court in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like, please email me privately.

When I bought my first dog it took me almost 6 months to get his papers transferred in my name and another oh 3 months to get his AKC paperwork and DNA squared away. The seller's took care of transferring the pink papers in my name so I'm not sure if they sat on it awhile before sending them in and that's why it took so long or if that's just how long it takes with the SV but in any event I'd say you should have certainly gotten them by now. I'd definately be concerned.
by Czech DDR Lover on 08 June 2008 - 07:06
Yup...I certainly am that...very concerned... and also very angry because she simply goes silent, but says many untrue things to her cronies and supporters about how she has contacted me with buyers for this dog, and that I have refused the offers asking for all sorts of other fees etc......all untrue.....no buyers have been ever brought to me in any way by this seller. And also, in good conscience, I would never be able to simply unload this unbreedable female on someone else just to get my money back. That would be as bad as what she did to me in selling her to me in the first place, knowing that she was truly not for breeding.
An email I received from her in October stated that she had sent the papers for my dog to her father in Germany, for "safe keeping." HUH?? " You sent your father the papers for MY DOG?? " So, then, if that's the case, don't you think she might consider that it would be "safe enough" to send them to me now? It was a year on June 4th, 2008.
The last contact I had directly with this seller was via email in January, 2008 whereby I stated in writing that she must send me the papers for the dog, or send me a refund for my purchase price. No response. Gone totally silent except what friends tell me about the lies she is feeding them on what she tells them she has done to make this sale right, and that if I don't make nice and stop complaining about the dog not being as she portrayed and not getting her paperwork, I will never see my papers for this dog.
