I have fed Canidae until this last month. I am losing my source but my feed store is picking up Diamond's Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul.

Does anyone here feed this food? What are the results? I don't like to change my dog's food so I'm looking for those here who have fed it on a long term basis and how your dogs do on it.

What about the puppy formula, has anyone used it on pregnant bitches and her litter? How did they do?

How much do you feed? Do you follow the guidelines on the bag or do they need more/less

I've copied the ingredients for those to see. I am not looking for suggestions for any other food. This is the best quality that I can obtain locally so I just want to know about this brand and not others.

Thanks in advance.

I have fed it to my dogs until my supplier started being erratic. I loved it, shiney healthy coats, energy etc. I recommend it to my clients for the dogs that come in yeasty from the corn or wheat allergies.

I have fed this alot to pregnant, and lactating bitches, and puppies alike. Great food, and I am very picky when it comes to food. I have a science backgoround and read alot of wholistic dog journals, they also love this food, good luck, Pam @ Von Leistung

Have fed it for several years now - coats are excellent - puppies and pregnant females in super condition - they like it, it's a very good food for moderate price.  Occasional soft stool is the "bad" side effect - nothing too terrible.

One of my dogs does not do good on Royal Canine and I have fed Chicken Soup to her for years and she has done very well.  I even raise my puppies on Chicken Soup for puppies and the results are great.

I fed it to my 3 dogs for a couple of years (This was more than 3 ears ago.)  They all did fine on it, until they ALL started itching like crazy.  As soon as I changed food, the itching stopped immediately.  I don't know it there was a formula change or what happened.  Before the itching started I was happy with the food.

Have you looked into Orijen? It's great.

I just had to switch from Pinnacle to Chicken Soup. I'm saving $20 a bag and getting 7 more lbs of food. I hope it turns out well for my 2 dogs I have on it. I just can't afford $52 for a 28lb bag with 2 dogs on the same food now. I have so far only fed it 1 day to see if they liked it and went back to raw until that is gone. I'm glad you had a good result Ajay, that makes me feel somewhat better about feeding it.

I use to feed it about 4 years ago but couldn't keep weight on my female GSD even when feeding 5+ cups of food.  However, this was also before she was diagnosed with her thryoid problem and she was working quite a bit so she was very lean.

I am considering switching back just to give it another try because of the affordability of it.  I'm feeding EVO now and I'm in the same situation as 4pack...I'm paying $53 for a 28 lb bag for my 2.  1 bag of EVO lasts about 2 weeks (literally) and I'm only feeding 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 cups per day.  EVO is just getting so expensive.  I do like the results of EVO so I may just quit whining and suck up the $$$

Good luck to you!

I just wanted to let eveyone know that my dogs are doing Fantastic on this food.

It was a little rough during the transition but once on the food there's no looking back.

Thanks to everyone who made a comment. Your input was/is very much appreciated.
