Thoughts and Prayers for Chili - Page 1

Alot of you know and respect Melanie (GSDfan).  Keep her and her 6 year old Chili in your thoughts and prayers.  Her beloved Chili was diagnosed with lymphoma.  Chili is Melanie's first "heart dog" and their bond is quite beautiful to watch.  I met Melanie in puppy kindergarten and have had the pleasure watching them compete and do very well in akc competion.  Chili excelled in dock diving and obedience.  She loves bitework and really just about anything as long as she is with Melanie.

The thought of her losing beautiful Chili so young breaks my heart.  Mircacles do happen, so I am hoping for one now.

So sorry to hear about Chili. I lost my first GSD to that horrible disease. Some dogs do survive with chemo, so there is always hope.

My thoughts and prayers are with Chili and Melanie.  You are so right, she has many friends here.  Please keep us posted.

I am very sad, Chili is my girl.  Truly heartbroken.

I have many things to consider about treatment. She hate's the vet (get's very stressed) and HATES needles (screams for vaccinations and needs 3 people to hold her to draw blood).  Aside from that she has a few other health issues.  I'm not so sure I want or should put her through aggressive treatment just to extend her life for maybe 12 mos MAYBE more...it might be more for me than her.  I am leaning more towards prednizone if it can be given in pill form.

Either way I plan on showing her the time of her life and spoiling her with swimming, walks and training.

So sorry to hear about Chili's health problems. You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't know you and your dog, but I will keep you in my prayers. It is awful to face that kind of cancer! Good luck to you!

My prayers are with you and Chili.  Prednizone can be in pill form, or was anyway.   I made that same decission with one of my old dogs.
